From what I know and hear they are expecting good things on the court this year, we will boast some great size on the court. Stay tuned for sure. Roster

Thank you. I have been curious about the Cosio twins since last year. Hopefully they are able to contribute for a very good season and on to the playoffs. Are they a transfer to Artesia? I think coach Mondragon is a good coach and will lead the team to play off territory. Go dogs....

Here is the schedule for the boys 2016/2017 season. I have also attached the City of Champions Tournament Bracket for this year, which starts this Thursday, December 8th, 2016. Lets go out and support these young gentlemen. Should be an exciting year for boys basketball.

Girls Win 58-29 over Ruidoso
Boys Win 78-43 over Chaparral.
Looking at last year dogs never came close to scoring 78 in a game, and we were coasting in the 4th quarter. Should only get better.

Boys and Girls win tonight, both in championship games tomorrow.
Saw the Boys in person, Bulldogs look tough, they can get up and down the court. They play defending 6A Champ Rio Rancho tomorrow, will be a great test to see how good they might be. Still early in the year though.

Go 'dogs. I am just not used to the bulldogs no matter what sport it is not winning a championship game. I was disappointed that the better team lost on the football field last week. Without the Ortiz boy Pio would not have even gotten to the state championship. I think he won the game rather than Pio. Still mourning, I guess...So beat as they call it around here Rio Rathole....

Bulldogs beat Rio Rancho 53-50 in the City of Champions tournament. First time Bulldogs have won the tournament since 2008.

Not sure what the rest of 5A looks like but we got a legit shot for a title this year.
Loved watching those guys play tonight, man they are exciting.

5A is pretty loaded this year in basketball.
Belen, Roswell, Capital and Espanola look to be top teams.
Valencia and Capital come to Artesia this weekend. Capital is 9-0 and beat Hobbs this last weekend.
Our own Patrick Mondragon is the head basketball coach at Belen. They were going to be a tough team this year but really opened some eyes with their victory this weekend over number 1 ranked Roswell High.

Dogs beat Valencia tonight, but we lost Bryce Mcalister with a knee injury during practice this week. Heard it was his ACL again.
Feel for the young man, I think he's had this injury the last 2 years.
Dogs will play a strong undefeated Capital team tomorrow

In the starting lineup yeah I think so bdog, but losing him hurts, I'm no basketball guru but I think we go from being an elite team to just a good basketball team without him. We shall see, I've heard he may play with the injury, not sure how but I've heard that guess it's possible. but anyways
We lose our 1st game to undefeated Capital today. 62-55
