Say Guys,,,I'm curious about others take on an item that has been irking me for the last 5 years or so. At the State Game against Centennial, we did not get to buy a program and several Artesia Fans around us were upset as well. Sometime during the second half, we notice some people did have programs and after asking,, we find out you have to go to the Home side where NMAA had set up ONE Booth. Most of the folks stated they were NOT going to walk all the way over there so,,,no programs or memorabilia,,,, Flash forward to last year,,,the NMAA booth did not open their booth till sometime after game started,,and the concession lines were sooooo very long,,so again No program,,!! Since I cannot walk near as far as I used to,,,,I go in the North East gate,, which incidently is where as many as 70% of Artesia fans get in thru, after parking at the BIG Church parking lot north of the Bowl. AGAIN,,,no NMAA booth on our side. My Son, had come in thru the East gate about 12:10 and he told me there was no NMAA booth set up yet, but looked like there was a Belen Booth selling Belen Stuff,,?? All thru the game I saw a total of 2 people with programs and NOBODY with NMAA Memorabilia,,,!! I have visited with Dusty Young at NMAA on this and he is as frustrated as I am with the contractor responsible and is going to address at next contract date coming up. NMAA is losing some serious dollars on this issue, and I believe some of that money goes back to the host school. Does anybody have attendance figures for the game,, Bulldog Bowl seating capacity is roughly 6,500. I didn't see very many empty seats. Plus, people were standing along the rail pretty much all the way around the stadium......not to mention the temporary bleachers that are set up behind the visitors side were pretty much full. My guess would be around 7,500-8,000 total attendance. Question: Why were there no game programs??? We got to the game about an hour early and I walked around for probably 15-20 minutes looking for a program and couldn't find anybody selling them. Do they not sell programs during the playoffs?

The Booster club is not allowed to sell programs for a State Championship game due to the NMAA having their booth set up just inside the main gate selling t-shirts and programs. The NMAA was setup before the gates opened at 11:30 but did sell out of everything before the game even started.

Crispy all those people in stands, extra bleachers and on rails had bought a ticket though or should have that total was 5,500.
Bleachers looked full but I know me personally we weren’t packed like sardines. That 6,500 is every inch of those bleachers covered packed in tight from what I was told.

Ever since the Centennial State game at Field of Dreams, I started talking with Dusty Young Of NMAA about this ongoing problem of not enough programs and memorabilia made available at the State Championship Games.. He shares this concern as well as that is money NOT GOING in the coffers for NMAA and the Host Stadium. NMAA contracts out the programs and memorabilia via bid that is coming up soon. I suggested some very simple criteria for future state games that NMAA oversees. 1. Stadiums that have TWO entrances and two concession stands REQUIRE TWO NMAA BOOTHS. Each NMAA Booth shall be situated close to entrances and concessions as possible. 2. Stadiums with TWO entrances and only one main concession REQUIRE TWO NMAA BOOTHS ( Nusenda Stadium in Albuq,) NMAA booths shall be centrally situated to EACH entrance. 3. For Stadiums with only one main entrance and one concession (Belen and many others) NMAA booth shall be centrally located to main entrance. 4. In all instances,,NMAA booths shall be set up AND MANNED at least one hour before start of game. 5. In all instances,,NMAA contractor shall supply "Rover" personnel to Home and Visitor's stands to sell programs and promote sale of memorabilia. I believe of the 7,000 plus people at Bulldog Bowl, fully half of them would have purchased at least a program,,,and most likely dropped another $50 on Grandson's or Granddaughter's State game T-shirt or a cap or maybe even a $75 jacket,,,,! That right there is an awful lot of money that was lost to NMAA as well as the Host,,Bulldog Bowl,,,,!!! Can you imagine,,?? I sure hope they get this ironed out before next year,, By the way,,in case anybody here has forgotten,,,,getting into the State game at Belen was one big CF if I ever saw one,,our line got "moved" 3 times by Belen officials, before we got into stadium,,,,you can't tell who I'm rooting for next year can you,,???LOL
