Only 1 guy from the defense?
3 total from a state championship team.
I know I'm bias but still, missing a couple more I think.
How does this work again someone remind me? Are players nominated and voted on by Coaches only?

Okay. It seems every year I always end up saying the same thing (on NMPREPS).
You have to be a senior and be rated #1 in that position coming out of that district. A #2 in that position/district cannot go in unless the #1 from that position/district goes in. When a #1 gets in then it opens the door for the #2.
Now I know in the past (from my experience in those meetings) coaches have said that if a senior is not committed on playing in the game that they would nominate them.
I agree, Denver Williams should have been selected. I don't know if he wasn't committed to play the game if he were selected.

Thanks BDC. maybe he wasn't rated as high when this was filled out, his game went to another level in the playoffs and everybody noticed then. that sucks, he is deserving, be cool to look back 15 years from now with your kid at the ballgame see your name in that Artesia program and show him, but this stuff isn't always fair, but I don't think anyone will forget anytime soon the plays he made in all 3 of those playoff games.

Thanks Randall. Based on what BDC wrote I can see why RR only got 3 but based on what I saw on the field I think two WRs - Hise and Reyes should have made it. Derrick Reyes is 6'3' 225 and would make a good D1 TE, can block and has good hands, maybe needs to put on another 10-15 lbs.

I could see Monroe Young passing up the All-Star game fearing an injury. I hope Denver Williams is an alternate and gets called to represent the South. He is a BAMF. I would love to see him play again.

Rapid - I see Byrd from Manzano didn't make the roster, maybe SDSU told him and Keyshawn not to play in the game. Don't know for a fact, just speculating but wouldn't be surprised.

If you have a D-1 scholarship you should always pass up North South game.

If you have a D-1 scholarship you should always pass up North South game. If the North-South was played in December would you still say D1 scholarships should pass on the game?

Why risk the injury. Many kids now days are also graduating at semester break, so as to enroll and participate in College Spring ball.
