Homecoming week.
Deming is 1-1-1. Looks like they kept it close against Goddard so is this a improved wildcat football team?
I saw good things in the Belen game so I see the dogs making more improvements this week. Look for the air attack from Artesia to come out and some running game too. Defense shuts down Deming in second half and the game gets ugly after that. But I’ve been wrong before lol

Well I'm sure BigDaddyCool won't give us the scouting report ha ha.
Big scores over the years, posting them I was shocked to see we lost in 2013 though, don't really recall that at all. But I still suffer from CRS lol.
I'm guessing a more competitive game than the last couple years, curious how it turns out on the scoreboard, hard to compare scores I know but of course I do it. See where we can gauge ourselves with other 5A teams, Goddard got the win but not an overpowering win against Deming, Roswell fell to hobbs last week, we certainly played a more competitive game than they did.

In 2013 I think the dogs wwee also defeated by Moriarity in the playoffs. The dogs were not too strong in 2013.

I think Deming will be an improved team this year. Heard they have some very good athletes with some speed. I am confident we will be ready to go on both sides of the ball. Thought we looked better last week. Houghtaling took very good care of the ball and had a great first varsity start. Looking forward to homecoming and another Bulldog win. Go Dogs! Beat the Wildcats...

Great Game, some good highlights to come this weekend.
Happy Homecoming.

This was one of those run away games that the young QB needed to get his confidence up and if we can have 2-3 more of these before the playoffs begin we will be in good shape to make another run at the title.
Defense is looking better every week, not that they ever looked that bad from the beginning. But if the offense can start consistently putting up over 35 points per game again it will be tough to beat us.
42 is looking more comfortable at MLB and we're beginning to see how good this kid can really be again. 41, 52 and 94 are also stepping it up on the defense and you can see the team becoming more aggressive on both sides of the ball which I think is primarily due to 18 setting a dominating tone behind center.

Good night for the 'Dogs! Add this win to the fact that Roswell beat Los Lunas and Artesia should be ranked #1 once again.

Not to take away from the game tonight which all phases for the dogs were working it. But Deming was pushed around like I expected and just wasn’t there night to shine. Lots of work for the wildcats in the future. Dogs had a great showing. Next week will be one hell of a game for the dogs. If all of it comes together will be a heck of game.
But I just watched the last of the 3rd and all of the 4th of los Lunas and Roswell and the coyotes looked pretty good. Physical up front and running attack that’s hard to handle. Come district that will be a game to remember.
Great job tonight Bulldogs

Fastest I think I've ever cut Highlights, couple hours after the game. Got to get up and leave early tomorrow for a freshman game in Clovis.
Enjoy!

Yeah, Coronado had 'em 10-3, but Carlsbad scored with about a minute left, went for two and got stopped.

Surprising - is Roswell that good or is Los Lunas over rated? I think it’s a little bit of both... I think Roswell has been underrated this year and Los Lunas maybe a bit overrated. Honestly I think this year will be all about match ups! Obviously LL struggled with the Coyotes. Roswell has always struggled with Artesia and I think the Dogs will struggle with the Tigers. I think Coach Maupin proved last year that he knows the Bulldog offense as well as we do. Add that with how Coach Willingham bottled is up this year- I’m afraid the Tigers will be a bad match up for us.

Thank you for doing these highlights, these highlights have become just as legendary as the bulldog program itself. Keep up the great work. Song request, Jason Aldean's "Don't back up, don't back down" accurately captures the small town Artesia grit.
