5A Semi-Finals are here, Day after Thanksgiving, so it will be a Black Friday for one of us. #4 Artesia (7-4) head to the Wool Bowl against #1 Seed Roswell (9-2) We last meet in District Play with Artesia winning 36-35 by way of a 2pt conversion and holding off a coyote drive to preserve the win. Weather shouldn't be a factor Friday evening, maybe a little chilly by 7pm kickoff time but no chance of precipitation or high winds for the evening. The Game will be live streamed by KSVP as well from what I understand. On the other side of the bracket #2 Goddard will head to #3 Los Lunas on Saturday for 1pm kickoff. Goddard defeated Los Lunas at home in the regular season 28-27 in Overtime. These should be excellent games, I can't remember a time where you had 4 teams that played each other this close and are now fighting it out again in the semis. Also Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone, hope you have a good holiday with friends and family. Go Dogs.

My guess is that Los Lunas is going to beat Goddard in Los Lunas. Also thru the grapevine,,I heard they are just waiting on Goddard's QB to "Knock him down, then stand over him to let him know who hit him" sic,,,,,,,,

It's been an up and down season with a slow start, some inconsistent play throughout the season and getting bullied on the run.
But in true Bulldog fashion they've improved every week and looked great on both sides of the ball last week.
I think they're ready to go and they'll stand up to these running teams!

I just looked at the Pecos Valley Broadcasting schedule and found out KSVP will streamline the game. Good for us who can't be there at the game. Go dogs beat the coyotes...

I have an uneasy feeling about this game. I haven't had this feeling in a long long time. Let's put it this way many many years. Probably since 91. Somehow some way we need to stop the run. Also they have a way of defending us pretty well too. just don't feel good about this one.

It was a tight game the first time around. The "bad guys" nearly won, maybe that is why you have an uneasy feeling. If Artesia can stop the run they will be ok. My concern is Roswell's tackling....they will tackle or hit toward the knees.

Yeah sounds like butterflies to me doggiedog ha ha.
I think bdogfan is right, not like other semi-final games where you kind of knew we should have the upper hand. Very tight game the first time around and now we go to roswell but plenty of Artesia fans will be there.
If we can get #31 this year we will have truly ran the infinity gauntlet to get it lol.

Win or lose this year has been one for the record books. The bulldogs fight for every inch. Just like tomarrow there gonna fight. Coyotes are tuff but every team in the semis are just where they wanted to be. This final four is as expected.
Tomarrow bulldogs will strap it up and fight four quarters. I’m proud of there ability to show up. Again they will do it. Win or lose I’m proud to be a Bulldog.
Good luck tomarrow Bulldogs.

No need to talk about injuries here. Roswell doesn’t need any help from us...

These coaches need to go. No common sense when it comes to situations.

Unfortunate ending to an otherwise exciting ballgame for the Bulldogs vs Coyotes. The Bulldogs played an outstanding first half of football, leading 21-7 at halftime. The Coyotes scored on their first possession of the 2nd half, stopped us on our first possession, and proceeded to tie the game early in the 3rd quarter 21-21. The Bulldogs ended up going down 14 points going into the 4th quarter, but rallied to tie the game with 14 seconds remaining in the game. Unfortunately, we allowed a long pass that gave the Coyotes the ball on our own 27 yard line (too far to kick a field goal), but with no time remaining, they threw a pass to the right sidelines, to a man who was allowed to catch the ball underneath, and with a few missed tackles, the Roswell coyote receiver got into the end zone with no time remaining.
Heartbreaking defeat tonight. I know the guys playing wish they had those last 2 plays back. They were nearly guaranteed to have an epic overtime game ahead of us, but unfortunately they couldn't stop those last 2 plays. Hats off to our young men playing tonight, They gave it their all. It's going to sting, and probably will for a while, but If I can say one thing about Bulldog football, these young men will rise up and remember tonight, and it will make them stronger men as they move forward in life.
If I can say one thing to these young men. Always remember. "It's Great to be a Bulldog!"

Linus they played hard. They will be back next season. I am sure there will be some adjustments. Artesia had not beaten Roswell in basketball in along time and they finally did last year. Same thing for Roswell football. They had not beaten Artesia in football in years. I think Roswell will be in a higher district next year, not sure.

The first long pass of the final drive I can live with. The defender was there, he did turn around but didn't see the ball and it was just a good throw and good catch by Roswell. The 2nd game winning TD throw was the one that was a harder pill to swallow and not just because it was the game winning TD. Poor coverage and poor tackling on the most important play (up to that point) really sealed the deal. But it is what it is, that's why we play until the end. I do hope Roswell wins state. All I know is that Los Lunas and Goddard played a super close game earlier but don't know anything else about LL, but I feel any one of the semifinal teams could win state this year and the outcome would always be different depending on the day. Either way, it was a good tough season and looking forward to next year.
