That's another good one bdogfan, or I've heard it said Mack Chase pays off the refs too lol.
AHS95 I think their will be a video board on each side of the gym, as it is the scoreboard in the center is hard for players to see on the court, I think their will be 1 on each wall, and they are also redoing some seating I believe and the student section? not 100% sure on this but I think that's how its going down.
Work is already underway I do know that.

One myth I have heard Goddard fans state is, "Artesia big oil money pays off the referees and Artesia wins " Yeah, I guess that's why we had a 5 game losing streak to Goddard 2010-2013. Goddard owned us during those years, but then we finally break the losing streak....and it was because we paid off the refs, lol

Guess the video boards will be center court, new scoreboards on each of the end walls.

What about the 4-sided scoreboard that hung from the ceiling right at center court. Is that still there? I haven't been in the pit in ages.

No it's gone crispy, that's what these video boards replaced.
I'm hopeful we can make a run in hoops again, remember the upcoming Junior class won Border Conference in 9th grade, I believe the first to ever do it, which includes teams from Hobbs and Roswell when it happened.

The one I heard before I started getting on this board and watching highlights on TV - Every home game is an automatic sellout. How far off is that myth?

The one I heard before I started getting on this board and watching highlights on TV - Every home game is an automatic sellout. How far off is that myth? Myth MikeMoe, but good question. It's hard to say how you could sell out the bowl, we have all the stands where people sit and then some people that just watch from the railing around the bowl and not to mention a lot of kids will just roam around the bowl, more a social event for some kids then watching the game, then you got an area on the home side where younger kids will toss the football around and play football. From my time watching Bulldog football I'd say Landry Senior year was the most packed I'd seen the bowl, I sit on the visitor side and seems even it was cramped every game, just seemed like a lot of people came from all around to see him play that last year in Artesia. So definitely myth, even for the Carlsbad game they even bring in extra bleachers on the visitor side to accommodate fans.
