Excellent try by the Bulldogs. If those passes would have been caught, the dogs may have won

Hey Thanks,,Agent Orange,,I'm sure liking your avatar,,!! Link works great
This was a great first half for the Bulldogs,,but Cleveland did a much better Half Time adjustment than we did,,,Our Quarterback had time to throw in first half but had to do a lot of running in second half, and got sacked way too many times.
Did anybody notice Coach Henderson yell and send #61 from the huddle during the time out of the last few minutes of the game,?? I don't know if that's too kosher,,,,If that was my kid, I believe I would of been very irate of the public humiliation. If I saw it on the TV feed, lots of people at the game must of seen it too.

If Rex ripped on him and sent him from the huddle he must have done or said something. In my opinion that’s football. It’s about time we call some boys out. When I played Worley, Dickerson and Davis had no problems chewing our butts in front of anyone and we were better players and young men from it too. I thought the boys played very well last night. Cleveland is ranked number 2 for a reason. If we play like that we will beat everyone on our schedule the rest of the year. Our front seven got dominated in the 4th Quarter. They need to keep getting better.

They need to keep getting better. Back in 1969 Artesia played Hobbs for the State Title at Bulldog Bowl. The head coach was LG Henderson....Cooper's father. The starting QB was Butch Henderson.....LG's son, and Cooper's older brother. After one offensive series in particular.....which went very badly, don't remember if Butch fumbled the snap or what but whatever happened was his fault......the offense came off the field and LG grabbed Butch by the facemask, jerked Butch's face into his and just WENT OFF! When LG had finished with Butch, facemask still in hand, he slung Butch around by the facemask sending him flying into the bench. And that was his own SON! My 11 yr old jaw dropped all the way to the ground! I looked at my dad who was sitting next to me and said.....Did you see that? He simply replied......Yep, sure did! That is probably the only thing I remember about that State Championship game, other than the score, lol. Bulldogs won 21-8.

As a person who enjoys getting on this website to catch up on some football news, especially about the Bulldogs. I occasionally have to reply to some comments. Especially when they don’t sit well with me. 1. To see someone comment about a kid getting yelled out by his coach and getting sent off the field to the sidelines and to say they would be upset especially because it’s public humiliating? It is disheartening to see. I know it is the times we live in but I don’t think it necessarily should be accepted that way. For one, everyone involved is fortunate to see their high school team on the internet on a weekly basis so to see kids getting yelled at (hopefully coached) is part of the nature of sports. At that point in the game the offensive line was starting to get beat off the ball and QB was having to scramble. Most the game the offensive line held their own. I assume and am sure coach was yelling at the kid or kids to compete and get it done. Since they had been doing well up to that point. Coaching is teaching and sometimes it requires a coach to get after their players to compete!!!!!! Again. I’m in my 30’s and I’m part of the new generation but like I said, it’s just really disheartening and I’m appalled that some people who considered that event to be out of line!!!!! Again guys, sorry my opinion and I had to reply.

I didn't notice that sevenjrs, I went back to watch, I think it was more noticeable on the stream since the camera was right on the huddle ground level and zoomed in. I'm pretty sure coach was mad about the block in the back penalty that occurred a couple plays before, as we were close to getting a score when it occurred.
Honestly don't think much of it, it was a bad penalty and coach seemed upset with it, it happens. hopefully player learned from it, won't happen again.
I thought the bulldogs played a good game last night, if that's truly the #2 team in the state we will be alright in 5A. Just keep getting better and lets get some home playoff games, we are always tough to beat at home.

Average players want to be left alone. Good players want to be coached. Great players want to be told the truth.

OK,,,OK,,,OKAY,,,!!! Gosh Dang, Agent Orange,,when they pile on here,,,THEY REALLY PILE ON,,,don't they,,?? It wasn't no biggie to me, altho, I still think that type of "dicipline" should be done on the sidelines instead of in the middle of the playing field. I DO agree if the player is a "player" he will NOT make whatever mistake he did again,,,,,lol. I thought Coach Henderson was pizzed because of so many missed blocks allowing the quarterback to get sacked so many times. I did see some great football from the Bulldogs and like others saying,,,they did a great job staying with the #2 team in 6A and all the other 5A teams now got something big to worry about.

There are only 3 teams every year, maybe 4 in a good year, that are even at the same competitive level in 5a football...after that, it is the sister's of the poor. Why New Mexico has 6 classifications is beyond me... everyone gets a ribbon I guess. 6A football is a little better in the the number of teams that are competitive.

I know what you mean sevenjrs, nobody wants to be humiliated publicly, I don't agree with that, take care of it in private or off on the sideline, but that was a view most people won't have, that camera was basically in the huddle lol. To me that's the difference and I'm sure the coach isn't thinking about that either when he's out there.

Yep, Agent Orange,,I remember years ago in the Field House during half time, (I was a Quarterback Club member for 17 years)and I seen a coach, whose name shall remain silent, throw an absolute tantrum and jerk a players helmet to him and YELL and I mean YELL at him so long and loud even I felt bad for the player. THEN the coach took a trash can (that was half full)and throw it all the way across the room scattering chit all over,,,nobody said a word for at least 5 minutes,,,but them Bulldogs come out of that field House and kicked some serious azz in the second half and won the game.

Incidentally, I read in the ABQ Journal, the NMAA is beginning to investigate school athletics re recruiting, will that include private schools? We are struggling. We open season 2-0 beating Tulsa Union and Waco Midway and averaging over 600 yards of offense. We go 0-2 last two games with offense getting stuffed. We lost our first district game to Summit. We had one of our Coaches who has been at Lake Ridge since it opened 7 years ago die of cancer on Wednesday. Kids were crushed and we played Friday night with tons of mistakes and errors. We catch DeSoto this week and they are loaded and wanting revenge for loss last year. We just have to wait to see which LR team shows up

It was a good preseason game. The Dog’s held up their end. Cleveland is the #2 team in the State 6A. I think they were surprised by our speed. Great competition will make you better. I look forward to the Dogs getting better every week. As for a Coach yelling at a player, Be glad you have the staff we have today, they do a great job. My son played and was yelled at by Coach Norton for 5 years, He still thinks the world of Coach Norton to this day.

Coach Allen, Phipps, Dickerson, Cearley, Combs, Whalen, Malone, Chambers, Chambers, etc. All those guys could get after us. We knew they loved us. My hats off to those and the coaches today. Artesia has a legacy of terrific men to work with their kids. Relationships, relationships, relationships. I would take a bullet for any of the coaches I mentioned. I'm glad they cared enough to get after me.
