Roswell will be our biggest test since Cleveland. They have speed and are well coached. Offense, Defense, and Special Teams will have to play at a very high level to come away with a victory. I am looking forward to Friday night. Good Luck Dogs!

Should be a good game, I'm expecting a shootout, last one with the ball might win.
I believe Roswell will score some points, I just prefer they don't come from Jasia Reese, he's dangerous with the ball, kickoffs, punts, WR, RB, CB. Just need to make it as hard as possible for him to get the ball and make plays, easier said then done though.

I watch Roswell played this year against Los Lunas they are a pretty good ball club Artesia going to have to played good on defense and offense to be able to beat these guys! Roswell are big and quick on defense and offense and there QB is pretty good he can run and throw the football. That kid Jasia Reese, he is dangerous with the ball. put a good hit on him maybe he slow down.

Does Roswell like to two-platoon and use 22 starters, or do the 'Yotes have some guys going both ways?

I am not sure but they don't have many guys out for football.... watch them on the net last week and they would be hard pressed to have 35 guys on Varsity at that game.... I was just kind of shocked by the lack of numbers..... Quality doesn't always mean quantity.

46 kids listed on the roster, several listed at 2 positions, not exactly sure how many play on both sides. Coyote Roster.Listen to Coach Lynn on last week pre-game show at about 7:25 to 9:40 when Art ask him about his offense and defense. He does say they put all their best kids on offense and the ask the defensive coach to coach them guys up on the defensive side. livestream.com/ksvptv/events/8791671/videos/197734708Also catch the starting lineup for the coyotes at 20 minute mark, I didn't catch any listed as starters both ways, could have just been this game though. But I do know players like Reese is used on offense and defense and I'm sure that will be the case against us.

Having players go two ways doesn't make a different at this time of the season. That shouldn't be worry. It has zero effect on late game stuff. If it did then Roswell wouldn't have come from behind last year to beat us. Most good teams have 2 way players.
Remember a few years ago Manzano had 9 two way players and they ran a no huddle and whipped us.
Roswell will be our toughest test all season.

I watch them played they are huge They are biger than Roswell High and they have alot of speed on offense and defense there QB can throw ball down field and he run the ball alot he played both way making alot of tackles all over the field. Artesia have their hand full both Roswell and Goddard Artesia Have to some good, good, good DEFENSE if they what to beat these guys.

Can’t put it all on the defense, with 3 offensive turnovers, numerous penalties. Just a bad night all around.
Roswell was in this role last year, just have to hope we can bounce back as bad as it looked tonight. About all I can say.

Very poor performance by the bulldogs. Defense couldn't stop anything until it got to the second level. Houghtaling would make one read and tuck the ball or try to make a throw on the run. The Roswell secondary was neither big nor fast. You could have nickeled and dimed them all night. Penalties were a problem again, as well as the offensive line. The best bet would be to shift some of the best offensive players to the secondary, bench Houghtaling at QB and put him and linebacker. The play calling definitely needs to improve. The halfback draws work when the passing game is going. Need to exclusively target the slots and maybe throw some wide receiver screens. In summary, a poor strategy let an inferior opponent win by 20. Not going to cut it.

With the penalties in first quarter, I thought I watching the the Carlsbad game all over again. That is a coaching problem.I wil. Twenty eight points is enough to win a game. The defense has not its job all year long The only way Artesia has won is by the offense out scoring the opponent. I hope they beat Goddard although I doubt it. Goddard will win by the run. I w8l go on a limb Goddard 54 Artesia 34. That is my rant. Some coach has to stop up and teach those boys how to tackle. Stop the run.
