IMO you are wasting your money on NFHS network. Go to the game, listen to KSVP but don’t waste your money on NFHS.

Yes, go to the game. Support the boys. They see the empty stands and comment on them after the game to their parents.

NFHS has proven undependable. I still remember the screwup when Artesia played Belen for state a few years ago. They were not able to carry it. They apologized after a phone spat with them, they returned my money. I looked it up today and they want you to to purchase it by the month or year. Why isn't KSVP able to stream it? They streamlined a playoff game before although not the state championship game. Yes NFHS is not reliable

It’s hit or miss, but at least you got options. if it doesn’t work or isn’t good quality just request a refund. A month pass is $10.99 so if we win and they cover the game again next week you got it or any other games around the state.
We are spoiled by ksvp stream though, I’m assuming they can’t cover it if NFHS or other nmaa sponsored crew is available to cover it, if they don’t they usually let ksvp have it.

if we win this week, more than likely it will be on nfhs next week as well. don't think that in the past that los lunas/belen schools have let ksvp come in to do the games.
so if you can't make it and the stream doesn't work you can get 2 games for free. or just don't watch video and listen on the radio.

Hopefully the ones in charge notice this, My son went to the game with us last week. he was shocked at the emptiness of the bowl. I feel for these young men, they deserve better. Win or lose we will be there cheering them on! Go Bulldogs!!!

Hey Outlaw,,I also feel for those young men,,,I was a Quarterback Dad for many years and a big number of those players never see their parents, neighbors at the games and I know it affects them,,,nothing like a wildly cheering crowd when they win,! This is why I get so emotional when I see the shortcomings of those men coaching them.

I thought I read on here somewhere that KSVP would be allowed to stream all play-off games EXCEPT for the State Championship game. Pretty sure I read that.
I also thought I had heard that the only way KSVP would not be able to stream a game is if there are no internet services available at the stadium........this goes for regular season games.....ANY game really.
SOOO.......with the above having been said.......when I heard that KSVP would not be streaming the play-off game against Capital, I just assumed it was because the press box at Capital did not have internet hook-ups, or internet connections.
Am I wrong? Randall!!!!!!

not to my understanding crispy, NMAA holds all the rights to playoff games, if this was a home game this weekend I'm sure KSVP would have gotten to stream it, hard for them to get a crew down south is my guess and announcers. Up north though, they got lots of people to help out, I'm guessing if we advance and go to los lunas it will be on the NFHS network as well.
kudos to ksvp though, they were ahead of the times with all this, now include Goddard and Roswell games every week. They have this down without a doubt.

It is my understanding that the NMAA is compensated $$$ for the rights to the playoff games. It’s not about who can do the better job, it’s about the $$$

you would think they would reach out to people like KSVP and get these things done and share a little of the $$ that goes around.

Supposedly if a person subscribes to NFHS, your local school where you graduated gets some money

I am going to send him a letter requesting he contact Scott Runyan for the open Head Coaching job,,,,!!! First of all, I did not realize that the HC job was open. Maybe I missed the news? Second of all, Rex Henderson has a win-loss record of 33-15.....with a State Title under his belt....as a HC. Do you know how many programs around the state would kill to have a HC with that kind of resume? The problem is not the HC, the problem is the DC. If Rex has any culpability in the current situation at all, it might be his failure to switch to a different DC....whatever that entails. No, I'm afraid that Rex isn't going anywhere, nor should he based on what has occurred within the program to date. Just a few other thoughts concerning bringing Scott Runyan in as HC....assuming that the job was open, which it is not. Does Scott know about this? Scott Runyan's strong points........he was a beast in the weight room when he played for AHS, his strength and conditioning program would be 2nd to none! And, he does have coaching experience....he was the QB coach at Miami under Dennis Erikson and helped coach them to a National Title. But, he has no head coaching experience that I know of. Downside........there are many, but I will just focus on the biggest one. I believe that coaches at AHS are also required to TEACH! Does Scott even have a teaching certificate? I don't think so! AND, if the school board decided to make an exception and let him coach without having to spend time in the classroom.....doubtful that he would receive full salary. AND, would Scott be willing to take a pay cut to coach here? Doubtful! No, I would say that the possibility of Scott Runyan becoming HC of the Artesia Bulldogs is less that 5%.....even if he were offered the job. EXTREMELY doubtful that he would accept it. It is a pipe dream....and something that is fun for us fans to talk about.....but nothing more!

I believe Scott spent 10 years at Naval Academy as an Assistant. I agree tho with the unintended consequences of firing a Coach with that kind of record.

When we win we had a great team. When we lose its lousy coaching. This is B.S. our Coaches and players deserve better. You want to gripe about football move to Carlsbad they haven’t won a State Championship since 1962. JFK was President.

It is a pipe dream....and something that is fun for us fans to talk about.....but nothing more! Lets correct you. First you don't have to have a teaching degree to be a coach in Arteisa. Those days of non contract coaches has sailed. Just look at soccer and baseball. In fact in Texas you no longer have to be an employee of a school to coach there either. Times have changed.
Now to Runyan. He would not be taking a paycut as he is self employed and retired from coaching. He is living in Carlsbad. He worked with Cooper some years ago during the offseason.
Runyan was part of 2 national titles. He helped Geno Torretta to the Heisman Trophy also. He has mentored athletes like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Mario Crystobal, the head coach at Oregon. He's lived with Gary Patterson while coaching at Utah State. Gary Patterson is the head coach at TCU. He is very close friends with Paul Johnson who was most recently the head coach at Georgia Tech.
With all that Scott would be a great head coach.
But we are not looking for a head coach and most likely not looking for a head coach in the next several years. One season that does not meet expectations and we act like the end of our program has come. Just so happens that Goddard and Roswell are pretty dang good this year and
Roswell last year. We play a lot of young kids. The senior class is small. We normally always play mostly seniors but numbers force us to play sophs. Easier to set a defensive game plan with seniors rather than sophs. I was always told from a young age that for every soph that starts expect a loss for each one. Funny that we act like our defense has been some great wall in the past 10 years. From Figg to Willingham to Johnston the defense has not been our calling card. We play a bunch of young ones on that side of the ball. Yes we have talent but not experience. You have to remember that the maturity level between a soph and a senior is huge.
In years past including Cooper coached years we have had to win by outscoring the opposing team. We didn't win on defense. This year our offense has been up and down. We got shut down in the 2nd halves of district games. Yet we blame the defense. Blame some on the offense also. It's a team sport and I hold each side equally accountable for our losses. It isn't like the teams in district scored 50 on us each night.
Lets just worry about the next game and leave the arm chair AD ways to run a program to the actual AD and let him run it. He's been a great AD and A great head caoch. I think he knows what he's doing. He is still coaching the sophs and still on the headsets in the pressbox for varsity games.

Well,,I would LOVE to go to this game because I know how very important is it to show the boys that we support them...We flat wore out 3 new vehicles driving all over the state from corner to corner all of the years that 4 of our sons played. I remember one year when we were in 3A that we went from Raton to Silver City to Bloomfield and including Lovington ! The Wife is now in a wheel chair and doing Dialysis, so, sad to say, our traveling days are pretty much done with. For those fortunate to do so, Godspeed and Good luck on the Highways.

GREAT post Super Dog,,,and I AM corrected!! I remember Scot's glory days of yesteryears, and I believe he still holds some records of his "rushing" ability in addition to his throwing the ball abilities. And I had no idea he has accomplished so much with his life.I guess lots of faithful are really worried about our seemingly quick exit from the playoffs happening in Santa fe this year. The fact that Artesia has managed to win has been primarily with the offense opens up some thinking points.Great post.
