Hello Ya'll,,,Haven't been posting much as been visiting up in Eureka Springs in the Ozark Country of Arkansas since this past February,,,altho,, I Have been spreading Bulldog stories and histories to those that will listen,,,,,! Most High School enthusiasts find it hard to believe that little ole Artesia has such storied success in high school football,,much less 31 State Championship Titles!!!!!! The recent thread on the Dog Pile was kinda interesting as that is my GF's favorite part of the game. We have been watching the last 3 games thru the generosity of KSVP on my laptop and she has become a die hard Fan and will jump and hollar same as me,,,!! YEAH,,!! I hope to bring her to Artesia when the Bulldogs play for State in Bulldog Bowl, so she can watch what High School Football is all about,,!!,,!! I have not seen any date of when the State game might be played, unless someone can help so we can make plans to attend. I seem to remember that alumni could call-in during the games to announce where they were watching the game from but did not see that option at the games we have watched this year,,? Many Thanks for any info.

Hello State Championship is Nov 24th or 25th. www.artesiabulldogfootball.com/page4.htmlSo, if what we think will happen occurs, the game will be in Artesia & we would host it on Sat Nov 25th. May throw out some playoff seed predictions after this Friday game.

I pretty much agree with that BDC.
Los Alamos is little bit of a wild card I think, maybe a game with Valley this weekend. If they go 9-1 could they get a bump up in seeding.
I think pretty much everyone owes Artesia, Los Alamos owes us too. We do owe Goddard but if they end up #4 they would be opposite side of the bracket.

Remember Goddard week and Coach Dickerson? This was his biggest week and probably one of the biggest reasons I can’t stand Goddard.

This was the game he seemed to look forward to and get hyped up about, beating Goddard was on the top on his list. This was his week to really get the team fired up and he never disappointed

This was his week to really get the team fired up and he never disappointed Dadof4........not sure how old you are, or what years you played......but wasn't that back when Sam Jernigan was HC at Goddard? Goddard was our biggest rival back then. Coach Jernigan had his players pulling railroad ties and lifting tractor tires all summer. Goddard kids were tough as nails! Goddard's program took a big step down after Jernigan left. Jernigan played his HS football at Abilene High. He was a couple of years older than me, but when I went to McMurry College in Abilene he was still there playing football for the college. Very small college McMurry was, about the same size as Artesia High enrollment wise, and very small campus. Everybody knew everybody at McMurry, just like at AHS. So I knew Sam Jernigan quite well back then when we were still in college. I always wondered if he brought those workout techniques with him from Abilene High or McMurry. I still remember at Bulldog Bowl the time he led his Goddard Rockets right through the middle of our circle of Bulldogs doing jumping jacks post game.....what an AZZ! Like I said, I knew him pretty well when we were in college......and yes, he was even a jerk back then. I always wondered what happened to him after he left Goddard. He left Goddard to go coach in the DFW area. Never heard anything about him after that.

I do think PV should be ahead of Goddard. But I expect Valley/Los Alamos (winner) and Gadsden to both be seeded ahead of mayfield.

It's funny how Coach Henderson retired but he's still out there working lol.
When I worked at the schools, I remember working in coach Henderson office, of all the pictures he had hanging up, kids family, football pictures I noticed he had up 1 picture of him and an opposing coach. It was him and Sam Jernigan.

So glad Roswell owes the dogs for the playoffs. I can already taste the sweet victory. Can't wait to rub it in their faces too. Roswell fans in general are irksome and insufferable.

I hope that's the case Superbad. Glad today is Gameday, I hope to see us play well and physical tonight, get that bad ju ju out of our system. I have a feeling the dogs are gonna come out strong and click on all cylinders after last week's debacle. Goddard gets to be the punching bag for the dogs to take out some frustration. Hopefully the refs are better this time. I really don't think they'll be a factor in tonight's game.

54-14 win.
Good bounce back win. Few things to nit pick about but overall pretty good job out there.
Highlights to come tomorrow.
Hopefully we don't have to leave Bulldog Bowl again, it's possible, that would be nice. Goodnight!

Hopefully the refs are better this time. I really don't think they'll be a factor in tonight's game. It was announced pre-game that the officiating crew was from Roswell. I was sitting on the home side of the stadium.....which I rarely do......and the groans and boos that went up when that announcement was made was VERY audible, lol.......at least in the section where I was sitting. But I do have to say that I thought the officials called a very fair game, even though they were from Roswell. I had no complaints about the officiating tonight. Side Note: Went to the game tonight with my Son and his wife, just the 3 of us.....Son (our one-and-only child) was visiting from Denver. He graduated from AHS in 2004. First time he had been back to Bulldog Bowl for a game since he graduated 19 yrs ago. Our daughter-inlaw graduated from a very small high school in Colorado.......about the same size as Dexter or Hagerman.........she had never experienced anything like Bulldog Bowl. She commented that Bulldog Bowl and it's atmosphere was even bigger and better than the stadium at the University Of Northern Colorado in Greely where she graduated from. Yes, she was very impressed!!!
