It's already time for the homecoming game. Artesia (2-0) will face Manzano (2-0). The Monarchs have beaten Rio Grande 46-6 and Volcano Vista 14-7. The Series with Manzano picked up in 2008, they took the spot of Rio Rancho, whom the dogs had an impressive record of 8-0 against. Manzano on the other hand is 3-0 all time vs Artesia. Here are the recent game scores. 2010 38-422009 20-632008 24-38

Anyone know the scoop on Manzano? Semi-Final team last year, did they lose a lot of players?

Thanks Delta, they have got some good size I heard, just look at that pic of #79 dang.
Stopping the run is always the key, we let hobbs break a few long runs, but we forced some turnovers to when we needed them as well. Limit the big runs and hopefully create some turnovers, Whitmire should get some chances to pick off a pass this week.

I have seen that big RB. He is hard to bring down and will run over people. I think if the 'dogs tackle they will have to wrap around and not let go of the big boy even if they are dragged, don't let go.

What is it going to take for the 'dogs to beat Manzano? Tonight they just got outmanned. So, go dogs begin concentrating on the next game.

One thing that has been left out of the Bowl after all of this construction is the locomotive air horn. I think that we need this back. Especially, with someone like Reggie operating it. That horn says big D. Im sure all you old timers would agree!

They got our number that's for sure, but I try look at the bigger picture and that is playing quality opponents week after week, to quote Landry's favorite verse Iron Sharpens Iron. We may have lost tonight but hopefully tomorrow we are a better team for it.

Not gonna be a booo bird or moan about a loss, all i can say, is that we have some work to do. We got a district foe that is every bit as good as manzano (Goddard). Good Luck Dogs!!

I think Goddard is better than Manzano this year. Manzano played smashed mouth football, up the gut and gained those yards. Hopefully the defense got sharpened enough to stop that run cause if not Mackie is going to have good night next Friday. I'd sure hate to see a Wow, Deming beat Artesia. Go 'dogs beat the cats....

JVA beat Roswell 33-6 I believe. That was the score with about 3 minutes to play.
