I know this is Landry, NMSU, & TTU country, but Dallas balled last weekend for the Lobos. Led the team in tackles and was all over the field.
I will be in Little Rock this weekend to watch the Lobos vs. the Razorbacks. Looking forward to watching Dallas in his first BIG game as a Lobo.

On the Mtn broadcast the announcers said that Locksley said Dallas was their most complete linebacker, which says a lot since everybody build up Messina to be an All-American around here.

I may be an Aggie, but I'm thrilled Dallas is playing so well. Gives me a reason to root for the Loobs!

This is still Bollema Country lol. He won't make the headlines like Landry but Bollema is just getting started and making a name for himself already. I'll root for him for sure.

Country Boys Can Survive
Dallas should punch coach locks out and see how he likes it. They need to fire that bum & call up my friend mike leach. when I was down in Myrtle Beach pitching for the Mermen we partied a few nights with leach and donald trump. He locked me in a closet with a few friends and turned the lights off, hell that used to be the thing when i was a kid, just wish i had my camera phone back then, whoooh wheeeew.

First of all let me say that I am very happy for Dallas! I hope he does well. That being said, I will NEVER again support the Lobos, if that makes any since. I hope they lose every game, but I hope that Dallas has a great game in the process. Sounds crazy huh? Not sure I even understand it myself.
The reason for my extreme dislike of EVERYTHING UNM? You should have heard the things the Lobo fans said about Landry Jones when he gave his verbal to Oklahoma! Hoping for a guy to have a catastrophic career ending injury, and WORSE, just because he shunned UNM to play for the school that he had dreamed of playing for his entire life, well, that is just totally classless. I know that some will say..."But that was just a few fans on a Lobo message board". I totally disagree! That was a cross section of the Lobo fan base. I feel that the fans that said this stuff are pretty much representative of the entire Lobo fan base. At least most of the Lobo fans that I have conversed with.
Don't get me wrong. There are a few classy Lobo fans. And Kirk, you are one of them. That is if you are who I think you are. I loved you as a Lobo! But back when you were playing I was a HUGE Lobo fan. I was a huge Lobo fan even when Kole McKamey was playing for the Lobos. I use to have an entire closet full of Lobo gear! But after what Lobo fans said about Landry all of my Lobo gear went in the dumpster, LITERALLY!
I now support Oklahoma, for obvious reasons, and Texas Tech. Having been born and raised right here in SE New Mexico, Tech is a pretty good fit. I feel that this is Tech country anyway! Heck, go to K-Mart or Walmart. All you see is tons and tons of Tech gear and UT gear along with a few others. But NO Lobo gear, or very little of it. I asked a manager at K-Mart a while back why there was no Lobo gear. Not that I wanted any, but she was standing right there so I asked just out of curiosity. She said that there was no demand for it in this part of NM. Yes, I use to support the Lobos but it is just sad how a fan base can influence someone's perception of a team.
I am very sorry for the rant. This is supposed to be about Dallas Bollema. But when the Lobos are mentioned, sometimes I just get so fired up.
Would just like to end by just saying that Dallas is a great kid, and I wish for nothing but the best for him! I hope he has a great year! I just wish he had gone somewhere else.

Dognation, I understand where you are coming from! I can root for any of the Bulldogs that may go to TT to play but can't stand TT itself! I have also disliked the Hobbs Eagles attitudes and sorry sportsmanship for a long time, but I thought I was very supportive of my nephew last week when we played Hobbs, QB Brayden Price. Sometimes we gotta turn the other cheek! LOL

FWIW - I live in Albuquerque and work at UNM. I do remember some folks saying that the Lobos' QB recruit of that year, Jon Mader, would be a better player in college. But I honestly don't recall anyone wishing injuries or hatred on Landry at the time. And I do think that the ones who said Mader was better, were just engaging in a little wishful thinking.
If anyone remembers any specifics, I'm at least curious. I doubt Landry had any ill will towards UNM and probably followed the Lobos some when he was younger, because of McKamey. But that's just a guess.

You're right BGP. I haven't followed TTU as well as I used too after the "three stooges" in the administration fired captain leach who was the winningest coach at TTU. That was and is ridiculous. I cheer on the Lobos but I can't stand coach Locksley. He's not a good coach and you should hear some of his excuses. I feel badly for those players who are winners. I don't know why Omar Castillo is not playing for the Lobos this year, it may have been something that happened off the field but coach Locksley is not one who is a good role model with his behavior off the field. My hope is that coach Locksley be fired and the captain be hired. I know that stadium will be filled when Locksley is fired. Go bulldogs beat Deming and stop the run...
