Strap it on. They have a potent running attack. Their running back ran for 302 yards against Roswell. He's averaging about 275 yards a game. He is a junior. He is also a super linebacker. He has or is going to break a state record for yardage. They actually have some youth on this team which makes them more impressive. They love to grind it out.
They will be our toughest test amongst the 5a schools we have played. They are coming with a chip on their shoulder.

Los Lunas took the bulldogs to the last 2 minutes. That was a test. Los Lunas lost by 1 to Belen.

If I saw the stats correctly on Max Pres, on passing they were 6-11 for 50yrds against Roswell. Lots of running on their end for that game.

Wasn't expecting a game like that against Farmington but will take it lol. Now let's talk 🦃. Lol Belen is gonna be tuff. Big kids who love that student body right and left run run run run run.
Again it will come down to two way starters. They have a few and that will play into our advantage. Eagle fans seem to Believe in that it's there year there theme is bound for glory. Some already have them saying undefeated and looking to stay that way. I like that in a team want them to come play the dogs and not just roll over and die like some teams do when it gets to tuff.
Things working in bulldog's favor. Offense hitting great. Hard to stop. Defense playing really well they can get stops when needed. Not saying it will be a shut out but will not be a typical run fest for that running back.
Winning in the bowl is hard to do. Coming in undefeated all pressure is on the eagles. yes it's the best two teams going for the big blue trophy and I expect both teams to bring the all or nothing attitude. But will have to see the bulldog's pulling number 30 home by 21 or more. Yes lost lunas gave the dogs all they could handle but jermey knew what was coming before we did he did couch for us lol
Can't wait for game day GO GET EM DOGS

I really like this matchup in our favor.
Bulldogs pretty much score around 50pts a game, that's a lot of points, sometimes us fans may not even realize it, we are just used to it lol. I think our offense is a good as any in the state and they can strike quick.
Defense is solid all the way around, more than solid, they are a good defense. They been generating turnovers, I've seen some hard hits from several guys. I like the way they play, seen us struggle some against a good passing team, but Belen will not be a threat to throw the ball much, they threw a total of 11 passes against Roswell. I think the Bulldog Defense plays the run well, I think this group tackles well, and I really think our secondary is great in run support as well.
Another Plus is we are at home, a lot of guys meet defeat last year, they should be hungry and ready to play this one and bring home #30
With that said, nothing is a given, Bulldogs will have to show up and play well, an off day on either side of the ball can cost us. They have been pretty consistent all year though, I'd expect them to play well Saturday.

The question is how many yards would the young man have averaged in two games versus Cleveland and Hobbs I would venture to say about 50 yards over 20 carries, however as mentioned in another post the dogs have to show up on both sides of the ball. In addition, Taylor, lil Robert and the other seniors have a bad taste in their mouth from last year and when push comes to shove the diversity of our offense and how our defense is playing should prevail. Nothing in football (even in the NFL) is an absolute but it's going to be too much for the Eagles to overcome especially in a hard fought game. It is hard to go all 4 quarters both ways and finish strong for a running back, just ask Jay Worden our tailback my sophmore year 85. he could barely walk come the fourth. Go Dogggs take another one.

It seems our defense is a lot stouter against the run than it has been in previous years. I remember running teams would give us fits, but I like our chances against the run this year. Another thing, if we can score quick and get them behind, they may have to opt to start passing and if it isn't their forte, I can see them losing by multiple scores. Basically I see the Eagles needing a near perfect game and the Bulldogs needing one of their worst games for them to beat us.

The Belen fans said there gonna let the beast out. There gonna hang 250 yards on the bulldog's lol wow. I don't have anything against diago seems like a great kid. We will see like they said"on the field." Very scary bunch guys they are taking post from here and feeding the Belen fans some fuel so careful what you post might be taken out of context don't want the south teams making excuses again lol

The beast was let loose when number 24 from Artesia played against Belen the last time they thought they were going to be state champs.

If they can pound the ball up and down the field all day long and keep our offense on the sideline, that would be the ideal gameplan for them I would think, but I don't see it playing out that way.

For what it's worth, just watched a bit of Los Lunas Belen game. Belen is not a passing team. Belen seems to be a team that runs time off the clock by running earning 1st downs. Need to consistently get 3 and out. A few less mistakes and Los Lunas would have won. I think the dogs will be ok. Quick strikes and a 3 touchdown quick lead forcing them to pass should help.
