Different type of thread I don't think we've ever had.
Give me some myths about Artesia Football?
I've got a few.
Everyone in Artesia loves Bulldog Football-myth.
All the town & School money goes into Bulldog Football-myth
Football players are given a free pass in class and around town-myth

Bulldogs don’t recruit players they from time to time import special players who didn’t find the right fit.
The Greathouse brothers Clinton Greathouse came from Roswell high Billy wells from Roswell high (worked with his father for a short time back in the day told me he was happy he came here cause he didn’t have to play both ways all game.) Wheeler brothers James and Kirby. Decided to play here For a better chance at winning a title. Caleb Choat mother got a job here and can be from big springs tx. Just a few that I knew off. Anyone else know of special import cases?

A myth I have heard is that black Unis were not allowed since the football was hard to spot when a running back was carrying the ball

A myth I have heard is that black Unis were not allowed since the football was hard to spot when a running back was carrying the ball Pretty sure that we played against a team maybe 2-3 years ago that wore solid black unis......thinking it was Aztec. I remember thinking at the time that their black unis didn't look as sharp as ours for some reason.

Anyone else know of special import cases? Kirby Wheeler was an outstanding DB who played his senior year for the Dogs on the 2006 Championship team. He started out as a Carlsbad Caveman. I actually remember watching him play against Artesia the year before he came here.....he was a beast for Carlsbad.....glad he came here! I know there have been players who came here because they wanted a better chance at a ring, but as far a coaches actively going out and recruiting......naw! Huge difference!

Money goes to basketball... look at all the gear their coaches walk around in. They got a new court, getting a new Jumbotron...haven’t won a championship since the mid 90’s but they get the most. Player for player, coach for coach, football doesn’t compare to basketball......until you start talking about championships... basketball shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence!!

Remember though not only do the boys use the pit but also girls basketball and volleyball, so it will benefit them too.

I guess you are new to Artesia. We support all youth activities at every level. Our kids never lack. Football get's it share and more. So do all sports. School Activities are also very well supported. Great place to raise kids.

One myth I have heard Goddard fans state is, "Artesia big oil money pays off the referees and Artesia wins "

Not just Goddard fans boss Roswell fans Carlsbad fans Hobbs fans The list goes on and on I’ve heard it a lot in the past but truth be told the bulldogs have good years and bad years but one thing remains the same The Bulldogs will play you to the very end of that game and win or loose the Artesia Bulldogs win with class and integrity. And if the other towns don’t like what I say I really don’t care. Lol
