Los Lunas is huge. They play well, and don’t make a lot of mistakes. Roswell is loaded with talent. I will root for Los Lunas but I’m not sure anyone can beat Roswell.

Los Lunas is big and physical. They have a linebacker who is a junior that has received numerous offers from big time schools. They are a ground and pound type team. They used a strong running game to beat Goddard. Too physical for Goddard. When was the last time you heard that?
Roswell High will have a tough time this time around. Los Lunas will try and find them down. Roswell has speed and an incredible athlete that can takes it to the house from anywhere on the field. This will be who is better prepared wins. I look for Los Lunas to win.

I should be rooting for the "close to home" team, but LL just has too many weapons, and an even better HC. I look for "Bruiser" to hit their D line lots of times for enough points to win that game. AND, Their HC will also win HC OF THE YEAR,!

I'll go as far as to say Roswell would win the 6A classification as well. I might piss some people off with that comment but Roswell is at a totally different level than the rest.

As much as I like LL and Coach Maupin, I think Coach Lynn may be the best coach in the state. Roswell is probably going to repeat.

Roswell over Cleveland? Rio Rancho? Volcano Vista? I agree in the past when Artesia had Landry they were the best in the state but does Roswell have a Landry? I don't think they would win the division of those 3 teams but just my opinion.

Roswell has a lot of speed, but I don't see how LL lost to them, I think they had some unfortunate turnovers in that game. I would think LL could control the game against them, I expect a better game this time and it's in LL. Unless it's a mental block with Roswell, 0-2 against them. should be a great game. LL in a close one.

I wouldn't put much stock in MaxPreps. They had RR at #2 before they lost to VV and Cleveland. I looked at the schedules of the 2 final games in 5 and 6A and the only close to common game was Clovis, who lost to RR and Cleveland but beat Los Lunas. For a 5A team to claim #1 they have to do what Artesia did under Landry, beat a top 6A team {LCHS} and another one that is middle of the road = RRHS at the time. This was not a shot at Roswell, just what I believe/

We also BEAT Clovis under Landry.......beat them in Clovis in 2006, Landry's junior year. But you are correct, we did lose to them at home in 2007, Landry's senior year......that was the ESPN game.

I think Roswell could be the best team in the State. If they have a weakness it is size and athleticism on their lines.. I saw them play Los Lunas early in the season. Close game for 2 quarters then Roswell just exploded on them. The only wild card is how well will Roswell travel. Home field is the only advantage I see for Los Lunas. I hope Los Lunas wins, good luck to the Tigers. Beat Roswell!
