How many returning players for 2020? Sounds like quite a few. Should be a seasoned bunch. Also, any word on what the schedule might look like?

Nothing matters right now except an attitude adjustment on Defense and building the meanest MFs in the weight room. That has to be done to get back at the top!

I'm just teasing with that magic 8 ball.
Your right fmrbdg, good mix of kids with some playing time coming back, and I'm excited about some of the others that are coming up. I really like a couple that will be on defense. I hope kids work hard, and coaches do all they can to coach them up. Hard to put into words but just attention to the fine details again, we can turn this around pretty quick I think, but the work has to be done first.
I'd love to see Mayfield come to Artesia for a State Title game, and knock them off. That's what I want to see, be pretty sweet. Support those kids and coaches, lets get back to winning again, whatever it takes. Hope to see us Motivated in 2020.

I think 8 coming back on defense.only 3 seniors was on defense. 6 coming back on offense. The starting QB for 2020 might be Cord Cox 5'9'', 147lb the back up QB Nathan Taylor 6', 151 lb

I was told last week, by 3 different Parents, that their boys were moving to soccer next year. Two of the boys nave been starters the last couple of years. Their reason,,,,they will not play for the present HC, And,, they say there will be others do likewise. The parents have written letters to Cooper and the School Administration asking for a solution. That's too bad and I hate to see this happening here but We all know something has not been"Right" for a few years. the "Leader" has to have "followers" if he is ever going to succeed. Guess the ball is in Cooper's court.

Hopefully those boys return. I think the dogs Hopefully will be okay. However, I won't forget when the head coach was interviewed after the scrimmage with La Cueva in Albuquerque two years ago that to me was disheartening, indicating the boys had a chip on their shoulders since the dogs won a state championship game the season before. I can only imagine if that statement discouraged the players?
