Boys will start weights tomorrow, that's a plus. Still need to get our cases down I guess for back to school hybrid mode, but honestly I think the most for our county are from Carlsbad

Holy cow. We went back to strength and conditioning in June. We've had like 8 cases of Covid on our football team. Worst symptom has been diminished sense of taste and smell.

La Cueva Bears are playing pick up football, at least I saw them on channel 13 last night and this morning. Don't tell me they are not being encouraged.

New Mexico needs a new governor. Is the Queen Bee issuing more edicts and royal decrees?

Great đź‘Ť. Now this is supposed to be a football thread not a political one. Go dogs This is the off season! As has always been the case with this board, non-football topics and non-football posts have ALWAYS been allowed on here during the off-season. I for one, never want to see that change. I see NO reason why political talk should not be allowed, AS LONG as everyone remains respectful and there is no name calling. I have seen no one being disrespectful or calling names in this thread. "Agent Orange" runs a pretty loose ship on this board......especially during the off season........and I really do appreciate that! Besides, our Governor is a VERY hot topic in our State right now, and I feel that we should ALL have the right to express our opinions on the matter! I sincerely respect your opinion, and I am sure that everybody else does as well. I also expect my opinion to be respected. I would assume....right or wrong.....that most of the members of this board would agree. Bdogfan......I always enjoy reading your posts on this board. Sorry, but I just wanted to get that off my chest. And Agent Orange.....I really do appreciate the way you run this board, and everything you do keeping us updated on all things related to Bulldog Football!

Well It's hard not to involve politics with this because we are pretty much at the mercy of the Governor when it comes to HS Sports right now, that relates to everything we do right now, workouts, can we throw the ball or not, everything. We were at a 5 to 1 Ratio with coach to kids, it's been upped to 10 to 1 now, boys were going to lift 3 days a week in their pod groups, now they added 2 more days to watch film and I believe we can toss the ball now, so offense can work on running routes and timing etc. So boys are going 5 days a week now to workout/lift/film study/etc We are slowly moving in the right direction, although many others have already started playing, people I know in Texas, Utah, Tennessee. According to Maxpreps we were the 1st state to officially move fall sports to the spring. This is a map of states playing fall football and states playing in the spring.

La Cueva Bears are playing pick up football, at least I saw them on channel 13 last night and this morning. Don't tell me they are not being encouraged. I just saw this on KOAT, www.koat.com/article/questions-surround-youth-sports-in-new-mexico/34082278No that's not a good look with that big a group, but kids need their sports, activities, not good for them to be idle doing absolutely nothing for 7-8 months, kids will find other things and most of it's trouble. You heard the JB White Story? Kid from Santa Fe, UNM basketball commit, out at 3am at Party got shot and killed recently. I've said before I take the virus seriously, got to protect the vulnerable, but kids, young people, this virus doesn't really affect them from everything I've seen and read,I have 2 kids that are my world but would have no issues or concerns putting them back in school or activities if we were allowed, unless they live with grandma and grandpa that have health conditions or someone else who does, let them be kids. I hate that KOAT runs a story on this, even fly's a plane over, would have been better to just let someone know about it and take care of it and at least do it the right way if they are to be out there. I feel for kids in these times, they face a lot more than we think sometimes, let them play ball, least of my worries for them.

From Sally Marquez of NMAA:
Yes, volleyball, cross country and fall golf are supposed to start on Monday. "We're still waiting for word from the governor's office," Marquez told her board of directors a few minutes ago.

Lots of kids are failing too, NMAA made a change on grade ruling for eligibility to play sports, basically relaxed some standards or a lot of kids wouldn't be allowed to play, up to schools if they want to enforce it or not from my understanding or stick to the stricter standard.
A few fall sports are supposed to start Monday, but like that tweet I posted above, no word from Governors office. As I said before, nothing will happen without her approval.

just my opinion crispy, I don't think it would do any good, just like the restaurant injunction a local SE NM judge made, only got to fall back on previous rule since Gov office failed to respond, once she got wind of it next day higher courts shut them down again.
Just goes to show NMAA can make a schedule all they want, doesn't mean it's going to happen, so yeah my optimism is fading again and my anger is growing, total lack of communication too between NMAA and Gov office, from what NMAA says Governor office hasn't responded, so yeah not too happy with her.

Your governor sounds like a real piece of work. So's ours.
