I hear Lubbock and many West Texas towns got players from all over Eastern NM I don't really know how many in total. All I do know is that Tom over in Andrews said that he had received one player from Artesia.......but you probably read that on here already. That's the only one I know about.

As far as football goes (varsity players) I only know 1 that moved out, hopefully he's back next year if a season looks likely, like a normal season I think a couple others decided not to play but that's it. I know several younger kids that have moved away, parents were big time bulldog players, don't know if we will ever get them back. I think if we get to play some games this spring we are in fairly good shape as far as players go.

This was posted Friday on NMPREPS. Looks like there are more hurdles to jump than what was previous thought. Going to be tough.
A. NMAA and Sally are under extreme pressure. 1. NMAA is sanctioning schools/coaches who dont follow the rules and will probably have some schools lose games/season and worst of all cancel the season for everyone. 2. NMAA is threatening to pull the plug on state championships due to students athletes more focused on playing than doing academics or not following rules
B. Governor said no contact and only 4 to 1 pods. That means no contact until the 1st game if the 1st game even gets approval. Not sure how to play football with no contact practices says there is a huge safety risk.
C. Watch list- Only a matter of time before numerous schools opt out or shut down for two weeks.
D. Scheduling and travel of teams is going to be a nightmare.
E. Fans are TBD/ Parents might not be allowed to transports kids they are waiting to see how that plays out. Hopefully Parents can transport to open up space in buses, NMAA getting guidance from NMDOH.
F. Only essential staff at games, including bus drivers, 1 media member and 1 video person per team. No cars allowed/ no fans outside stadiums. Local police will need to be present for enforcement.
G District will be re-aligned and schedules are weekly and could be changed at any time... So if Taos is scheduled to play Bloomfield a change could happen on Tues or Wed of game week were Taos could play Santa Fe High for example

I got soo much to say, but I better just keep a lid on it. I've just tried to burry my head in the sand lately, everything that makes it's way to me just drives me mad. Our state is insane, who else did it like this? this is only some of the craziness, heard of a bunch more yesterday.

The athlete we got from T town performed very well last night in a JH track meet. Saw him anchor a 1st place sprint relay. He was not in the lead when he got the baton. He made other contributions as well.

I know this a football board but the big news in Albuq is freshman Amari Brown, 6'2' Guard from Cibola, ex Lobo Greg Browns son, is going to Atlanta to play with his club team. He is supposed to be the best player to come from Albuq in 10 years. Story on Albuq Journal online. He dosent know if its a permanent move or not.

Hard to blame a kid like that, not sure what's up with Albq schools, seems to be chaos among the leaders there, I think if things don't go back to normal at least sports/school it could be permanent move for that kid, I'm sure he just wants to play. I saw Rio Rancho schools had to fight hard to get to play, don't know much about Rams coach but Cleveland Storm coach Heath Ridenour former Lovington guy, was fighting tooth and nail I saw, one of the best coaches in this state, easily, it shows. We need leaders like that for this state to stay relevant, it helps all of us.

On my FB account for Artesia Football I had a post giving kudos to Artesia school board and administration, teachers, coaches, seem to be on the same page and want to help our youth best they can and that is returning to school and sports.

Here in Oklahoma we had a normal season, there were some games that got cancelled due to Covid. But overall it was a good season

Sounds like the states of Texas and Oklahoma have figured out how to do this. New Mexico's governor, unfortunately, remains clueless.
