I am going to take this opportunity to make an "off topic" post. Bulldog Football is still quite a while away, so I thought this would be a good time.
A lot of you on here may know Chris Bishop. He is our son, and he graduated from AHS in 2004. During his time at AHS Chris was active in Drama as well as the Bulldog Band. Yes, he was one of Mr. Dillon's Marching Maniacs for 3 years. Chris really loved his time at AHS! Today, he looks back on those years with very fond memories. Mainly because it has spurred him on to bigger and better things. But in his heart he will ALWAYS be an Artesia Bulldog. I just wanted to let everybody know what he has been up to recently, because I thought that just maybe a few on here might remember him from his days at AHS.
As I have mentioned on here a few times, our son Chris Bishop, is living in Denver where he is a 25 yr old grad student working on his Masters Of Recording Arts degree at The Univ. of Colorado at Denver. He received his B.S. in Music from ENMU in Portales in 2009. Just about one more semester to go for the Masters, we hope! He has been paying his own way through grad school (pretty much) by doing a LOT of free-lance audio and video editing for the film industry. He has done editing, both audio and video, for Spike TV as well as a couple of TV shows here and there.
Well, there is currently a movie that is filming in the Denver area. The name of the movie is "Menschen". It is a German word that means "human beings". Our son, Chris, is doing the post production editing on that film. Here is the kicker! He was also asked if he would like to fill in as an extra for some of the scenes that are being filmed in Denver and the surrounding area. His reply? HELL YEAH!!! So here are some production stills from "Menschen". Our son, Chris Bishop, is in the role of a P.O.W. (prisoner of war). Austrian I think. They are captured by American troops and turned over to the Russian military, which eventually results in their execution at the hands of the Russians. But this movie is about SO MUCH more than that. I think the Austrian P.O.W. angle may be just a sub-plot. Anyway, here are some of the production stills from "Menschen" with our son Chris in the photos................
Taking a break between shoots, our son, Chris Bishop, is on the far left in this pic.........
In this one he is standing, pretty much dead center. Must be between scenes because he is smiling. Don't know if P.O.W.s did much smiling, lol..............
This one was taken during filming. Chris is on the far right, and in the foreground closest to the camera, with his head down........
Here he is talking with some of the other members of the cast. He is 3rd from the right in this one. Notice the boom camera at the very top of the photo......
I really love this one! He makes an AWESOME Austrian P.O.W., don't you think?
