Jones led Artesia High to two straight state football championships, and Stoops praised the school's program based on what he saw while recruiting Jones. “I thought the high school there, their head coach and the way they practice, was as fine a practice as I've seen anywhere — from high school to professional football,” Stoops said. “It was really impressive to watch.
