I've learned today there will be no more fireworks at the Games, with the video board on that end of the field and no other suitable location to shoot them from the fireworks tradition will end it appears.
I always enjoyed them, sad to see them go.

Not sure if you sit over there all the time, but I've seen you over there a few times. But I understand! Shooting video is better from the visitor's side because you get awesome shots of the home crowd. Just a little secret. I sit on the visitor's side ALL THE TIME! I like it because I really LOVE seeing the Artesia crowd go nuts when we make a big play! That, plus it's closer to my car when the game is over, lol.

I always enjoyed them, sad to see them go. MAN, this HURTS!!! I can't even begin to tell you how much this hurts! Talk about a real kick in the nuts! WOW! The Deans Pyro Team and their fireworks are a Bulldog tradition! This makes me want to cry, literally! All because of the video board huh? You know, I really like our new video board, but to tell you the truth I would rather have the fireworks than the new video board! If I had known about this before hand I would have protested the video board. Maybe even picketed the administration office. Just kidding on that one, but WOW! I say rip the dang video board out of the ground, throw it in the junk pile, and let the fireworks fly!!!!!! SURELY something can be worked out! Heck, rope off a section of the North parking area behind the video board and launch them from there! Work out a deal with the Blue Quail shopping center and launch them from the Blue Quail parking lot. Heck, launch them from the roof of SONIC! I don't care, but something needs to be worked out! This is horrible! I sit on the visitor's side during every single game and the fireworks are one thing that the visitors constantly rave about. Doubt that they will be saying........OOOOOOH, look at the pretty giant TV by the flagpole! Sorry if I am being overly dramatic, but like I said earlier, what a kick in the fk'ing nuts. Sorry for the language. You know me pretty well, and I NEVER use language like that, but that is how much this means to me. Sorry to go all Kenny Powers with the language, but WOW! Somebody should start an on-line petition. I will be the first one to sign. I'll even give my SS# and my credit card # if necessary. Somebody do something! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE!!!!!!!!!! lol crispy I feel your pain. I love the fireworks as much as anybody, I'd always try to get a shot of them to put in my video. I'd sit in the visitors stands too and yeah visitors would ewww and ahhhh at the fireworks. I wish we had them like that when I played and heck even my son someday. I thought it was cool when they were popping and the bulldogs were coming out to the field. I don't know all the details crispy, but with the video board over there that's a big part of them not continuing I think. If I remember right they even rope off the walking area around the burms when they are set to go off. I think it would be hard for them to setup anywhere else and have to do this and take precautions. I think I heard someone saying it wouldn't be "if something would happen but when" and don't forget there is the new girls locker room addition on the other side of the bowl too. So I think it's just a combination of things and just being too difficult to continue and take precautions without disturbing the flow of traffic around the bowl and down on the field, maybe it was just time but I'm sad about it as well. No doubt we had the best fireworks at a high school game around here.

The video Board will draw more raves from visitors than the fireworks. Since I have not been part of the fireworks generation I see no big deal. My Brother loved it as does Crispy. I don't see it as a change that impacts the TRADITION

I always thought the firecrackers were a little over-the-top anyway. I'll take the new video board any day over them.
