www.golobos.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/nm-m-footbl-mtt.htmlOf course, Bollema is the best of the bunch, but there are several kids from Roswell on the UNM roster this year. Also, not sure if people saw it, but Davie put in a nice new "in-state tradition." They're going to have some sort of "New Mexico Man" selection each week among the walkons. The chosen player will carry a New Mexico state flag onto the field before the game, and that player will start on special teams.

Not sure if people saw the news, but ex-Clovis and UNM star Hank Baskett will be doing color commentary for the first two games of this season (Greg Remington, long-time SID who's now retired, will be unavailable for those two games).
I also noticed in that golobos.com release that UNM has radio affiliates on the football network in Carlsbad, Hobbs and Ruidoso. I'm SO glad that UNM did finally quit limiting its sports marketing to the northern part of the state (and that almost never extended east of Santa Fe).

Just to let you know that they've always had affiliates in SE NM. 105.1 was one up til last season. I guess you living in Albuquerque didn't realize that we had those.

Well, I only needed to know about KKOB-AM, living up here. I was just saying that I've been pleased in the last 20 years that UNM did finally do some sports marketing outside of the Albuquerque/Santa Fe/Farmington/Gallup region. And it's always been a bogus idea that everyone in those towns is a Lobo fan - I used to work at a bank in Santa Fe, and it was like Little Cruces there at least.
