Our District foe Roswell High will have a new football coach next year. Headline from Roswell Daily Record. "I did tell them that if they wanted to get rid of me, get rid of me. But I wasn't going to resign. Robert Arreola. Apparently Roswell did want him out and will head in a new direction next season.

What is going on with Roswell High School? Who are they going to hire next. You think they will go after Cooper? Maybe one of the assistant coaches? I hope the best for the coyotes....

Seems unlikely since the exiting coach is Speedy's son in law I believe, though correct me if I'm wrong. Good point Charliedog, They tell these guys all the time "Resign or be fired". LOL, in other words, "please resign so we won't have to answer to the people who support you. Please?" Stand up and be counted.

A lady friend of mind from Goddard told me that Sam Jerningan might retire from coaching.

I think RISD would offer Jernigan a bit more money so he would not retired. I thought maybe Speedy would be be the next HC in line. He did well as HC at Shallowater, Texas. I hope they get a good coach that will take them to the next level. But then again HS is not like the University system....

He did well as HC at Shallowater, Texas. I respect Speedy and all, so this is nothing against him or anything like that......BUT, I must have heard something different than you did. I thought that Speedy didn't have very much success in Shallowater. I will have to check up on that. Maybe I heard wrong.

You know, I had heard that he was Speedy's son-in-law a long time ago, but I had totally forgotten about it. Speedy to head coach might not be the best thing for family relations, lol. I hope Robert finds someplace to land. Maybe back to Lovington?

Man I love MaxPreps! Maybe I should have just been quite about MaxPreps and let y'all think that I just pulled this info out of my head, lol.
Going back to Speedy and his time at Shallowater TX..........
Speedy's overall record at Shallowater was 21-30-0. He was there for 5 years.
2004...............6-5-0 2005...............3-7-0 2006...............6-5-0 2007...............2-7-0 2008...............4-6-0
Is that considered success? I guess it depends on where the program was at before he got there. I know that the UNM Lobos only won 3 or 4 games this past season and they consider that a RAGING success over the previous 3 years, and rightfully so!

Didn't Robert have a brother named Rudy? Both of them played for Lovington. I thought Rudy was coaching somewhere, but I lost track of where. Anybody know?

Roswell needs to go hire Tony Romo as a coach maybe he'll be a better coach in high school than he is quarterback in the pros. Yea, the coyotes needs someone that is known and famous to boost their footbal team and Tony Romo is the person. Then get Landry Jones to QB the Dallas Cowboys. That is a good new years fantasy, right?

My Bears fired a very good coach today, but he just couldn't get us over that hump, our offense has been inconsistent during his tenure so instead of sticking with the status quo a change will be made. I think Dallas should do the same. Happy New Year!

Hey after all Brett Favre I think is coaching at a smaller high school somewhere in Messessepe (misspelling on purpose) than Roswell High, why not Tony Romo in a much larger and quality high school than Messesspe? Happy New Year to all the Bulldog fans and go 'dogs....
