Have you been drinking bdogfan? lol
Don't get me started on Brett Farve, most overrated QB of all time. Thank God he is gone from my TV.

No, Tony Romo is the most overrated. At least Brett did something with Green Bay. Tony would have been better off to stay as a second string QB....or with Jessica Simpson

Very good Cdog...How much influence do you have to get the cowboys to draft Landry Jones? I have said it before and I will say it again! I am the world's biggest Dallas Cowboy fan, and I am also the world's biggest Landry fan! But I don't want to see Landry ANYWHERE NEAR that Dallas/Jerry Jones train wreck! I'd rather Landry go someplace where he will be able to succeed, and I just don't think that would ever be a possibility as long as Jerrah is running things in Dallas. Denver would be a great opportunity for Landry. Carry the clipboard on the sidelines for a couple of years.......learn from the best in the league (Peyton Manning)......then take over when Peyton retires. Sorry for the rant, but can we just put this whole "Landry to Dallas" thing to bed already? Of course you know that this is all just tongue in cheek, right??? I really don't want to see Landry go to Dallas, but if it happens........it happens, and I will be cheering for him on Sundays. If LJ had a chance to go to the Cowboys and be successful I would be all for him going there. I just don't think that Dallas would be the best possible fit.

I heard that Coach Judge Chavez from Cibola is in the talks of going to Roswell. Maybe a northern guy hits the southern NM scene

Judge would be better served to look elsewhere. Roswell High has a lot of problems that a football coach cannot solve...

Hmmm. Might be a voice of experience. I'm sure it is You guys don't think anyone can turn that program around? Not that I care if they become a football power again, Goddard is enough to handle, just seems Roswell High is the basketball school now, I think it would be hard for anybody to turn that around but surely they can do better in this area.

That program certainly has had problems, seemingly after Bradley left. Any idea(s) why?
School board members who meddle with football? RHS administrators who meddle with football? Meddling football parents? Lack of numbers out for football? People in charge of the school or district who know nothing about football?
Didn't Jack Cisco have some good years?
I know Sarge was there -- I really need to interview him one day 'cause I'm sure he has stories to tell.

I heard that there is not a district alignment there. So you can go to either school if you want. You want to play football you can go to Goddard. If you want to play basketball you can go to Roswell. Thats what I have heard from some pretty reliable people but who knows.

There is a rule where when you finish 8th grade you can choose a school with no penalty. But you can't change after that without penalty. Very very few go to a school to play a certain sport. Right now there is not one person living outside of the district playing a sport at either school.

Olesinski lives in Goddard district and goes to Roswell High. His older brother Marek started at Goddard for his freshman and sophomore year and then transfered to RHS for the last 9 weeks of soph year and was ineligible under the former 90 day rule for those 9 weeks and the first 9weeks of the junior year so he didn't miss any of basketball season. The sister, Anna and now Alex chose RHS right away after 8th grade.
The son of the RHS head track coach and asst. Volleyball (at least formerly) goes to Goddard for football and wrestling while his sister played at RHS for volleyball and basketball. There are others I have been told about but don't have any specific names.

IMO Roswell is too small of a city to have two high schools. Rio Rancho is much larger than Roswell and it hasn't been more than 3 or 4 years ago that they build a second high school. These two school should merge, maybe Goddard or RHS can be an intermediate school. This post may ruffle up some feather but the sun will still rise tomorrow. This sounds a bit "fishy"...

I don't think so bdog, before the new school Cleveland, Rio Rancho was the largest high school in New Mexico by far I believe. Roswell is the 5th largest city in New Mexico, 2 High Schools seem reasonable to me, I'm not sure what their numbers would be if combined, surely that would put them in 5A and I'd say they would still be a powerhouse in football and basketball. Goddard alone could compete very well in 5A as would Roswell High in Basketball right now I say. The choosing your school rule seems fishy, I just wonder when it came into play. My senior year Goddard & Roswell were our toughest games, they were a classification ahead of us back then but we usually were able to compete if not beat them. In 97 our only loss was to Roswell High 7-15 and we beat Goddard 14-13. I couldn't imagine if guys like Dontrell Moore, DJ Renteria had a choice and all football guys played for 1 team that would be tough. As it is Goddard has our number in Football and Roswell High is so dominate in basketball, could this be why we struggle in these sports against them? I could be way off, times have changed things, sometimes you go through cycles like this but I'm ready for things to start going our way again.

Wow, I guess we were wrong about Speedy. He did apply.

A few things jump out to me, one that Speedy applied, especially since it was his son in law that was fired from that position. I can't see them going with him, just because he was already there, I would say he probably had a big influence on how they did things. I just think they go in a different direction. Tim Fuller would be an interesting choice, I watched his team play several times in Dexter, they always seemed well prepared and played hard, they had huge numbers out for a football team in Dexter, I thought he got a raw deal there at the end when they let him go, watched a game there this year and it doesn't seem near the same there. I had no idea Former Aztec Coach Brad Hirsch went to Chapparral after he left Aztec. Found a story on it, something happened there but not sure what. www.daily-times.com/ci_20686840/former-aztec-football-state-championship-head-coach-bradAdam Lucero has a nice quote, this kid is a gold mine on the quotes. He backed most of them up though so I give him credit. "Hirsch told me that in three or four years Chaparral can be a state title contender," Lucero said. "He said this year they want to make a run at a playoff appearance and maybe see us in the first round. I think he can do it, and I would love to play my old coach in the first round this year and whip him." Apparently he wants another head coaching job already, if he went to Roswell that would make things interesting, all coaches in our district would have a state title to their name.
