Citing "personal and professional" reasons Ed Lucero resigned last week as the LaCueva head coach. No speculation yet as to the new man but I'm sure it will generate a lot of interese, not my favorite but a good program with a lot of support.
Crispy - Thanks for your kind words about my wifes recovery. I'm not a very good caregiver, dont have any patience, but my respect for people who do it for a living has grown by 100%. Not sports telated but thought it needed to be noted.

You're welcome Mike! My respect for professional caregivers has increased dramatically over the last 10-15 years, what with my grandparents and now my in-laws. What they have done would be near impossible for my wife and I to handle by ourselves. They are truly angels sent from Heaven!
It will be interesting to see who gets the La Cueva job. Was Lucero the coach when La Cueva had those nationally ranked teams a few years ago?

Romero was the coach of La Cueva when they made that 2 year run.
Lucero is choosing to work on his professional career. I think that means he wants to pursue an administrators position within the schools.
Interesting will be who applies for this and the Cibola job.
Last time La Cueva came open I believe Rex Henderson of Artesia was an applicant.

Crispy - I think they were nationally ranked the same time Landry was in HS at Artesia, may have the years wrong. They were a powerfull team but didnt go against any good QBs in this area. RRs run of good QBs came later and they werent on the Bears schedule and probably werent good enough overall to beat LaCueva, now it would be a good game.

I don't think we will have to worry about losing any of our coaches to these high profile jobs.
