Now that Coach Wilburn is moving to Lubbock this spring who will be the new voice of the Bulldogs? Somebody also needs to find out who scored the last TD when Coach said AND NOW MY FRIENDS THAT IS JUST ANOTHER BULLDOG TOUCHDOWN. That will make a great trivia question

He's moving? Wow he's going to be missed. Maybe he can travel from Lubbock and announce the game each time the football team plays.

That will make a great trivia question Provided he said it on the last touchdown of the season it was a TD Pass from Trevor Eulenbach to Weston Leonard. Danny Parker is pretty good on the PA but I don't think he wants to travel to announce, he's got a couple young kids. I have no idea who else might be a replacement candidate.

Yep Cord lives there and has two sons. Cord said on FB that Coach Wilburn would be the official voice of their T-Ball team.

I never did like his tagline, but man, haven't heard an announcer yet that's as good as him. Gonna be weird without him!

How many games do you think JW called for the Bulldogs? Did you know that JW would never use his "tagline" when the Bulldogs were behind?

Something I have been trying to remember with no success.......who did the radio play-by-play before Jim Wilburn? I know that Dave Button use to do it but that was eons ago. Pretty sure there were several between Dave and Jim.

Tommy Brown did it when I was young. My favorite announcer is Jack Nixon who announces for the Aggies and the Las Cruces schools. Would love to find someone like him.

I wish RR was losing their PA guy, man gives the Rams score first regardless of who is ahead and is too much of a homer with his comments.

Dont know BGP, never been to the Wool Bowl. The radio play by play guy for the Rams is real good, even objective.

Wow, that is disappointing. JW does an outstanding job and is a good combination with Gene. I have lived all over the country and can say that the Artesia broadcasts are in the top 1%. Baseball & softball are in the top 0.00001%. Big shoes to replace.

Tom Brown Jr. was my QB dad for two year when i was in high school.A good announcer. I think Big Dog would be a good announcer. He did a good job at the Lady 'dog Invitational

I spoke with Gene Dow during the LadyDog Invitational. He will be the Voice of the Bulldogs at least for next season. He plans on hiring someone to help him with the audio engineering part of the broadcast. Kind of like what he did with Jim for the last several years.
Thanks for the nice suggestion Rapid, but I already have too many responsibilities as it is now. Not sure my job with the schools would let me travel for away games. My plate is pretty full and my son will be graduating in May. I might try and dial back my involvement a little bit. Then again I might really try to stay busy to keep my mind off being alone for the first time in 20 years. Not sure right now.
