I've been looking forward to it, but now I'm not too sure: I'm probably reading more into it than is there, but sometimes it feels like all these critics are piling on.

I read that article and to me it seems like he is putting the blame on Oklahoma and Bob Stoops and the system that they ran. I didn't see it as a bashing of Landry at all. But maybe that's just me.

I saw the Landry episode or at least part of it yesterday. He and Landry hit it off well from what I saw. I think it's going to be ok. I think Landry has a chance to be a huge success 'but it will take the right situation. He has the same skill set as Tom Brady/Peyton Manning, Not RGIII,(time will tell if he can have as good of skills as TB). Somehow people think that's the only way to go. I've heard him called everything from a 3rd round steal to the only franchise guy in this years draft to a guy who will make a decent 10 year career as a solid back up. But as for the Gruden show, JG ends with, "If I ever coach again, I'll never huddle again. Ever." He was pretty impressed with OU's system. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. I think Landry kept OU from being catastrophically terrible the past 2 years. When you throw 60-70 times a game, it's because you can't do anything else. He was their only chance to be successful... Stoops and Co. knew that.

I know the new thing is the RGIII and Cam Newton type, but I've wondered about longevity of those type of QBs. Seems like they have a much greater chance of injury. I always thought Stoops didn't want Landry to run (I remember he ran fairly well in high school) because he didn't want to take a chance on him getting hurt. Am I all wet?

I look for the RGIII type QB to be a fad and to fade fast when the QB's bodies do not withstand many seasons

I think this show will air twice on Wednesday, on ESPNU. It'll be on at 4 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. I don't know if you can get it in Artesia, but we can get it in Albuquerque on Cable 281.

I noticed this year that there wasn't a white board dissection of plays with Landry. Was there with others this year? I know in the past Gruden would have the QB's dissect plays on the white board. With Landry, he took him out to the field to make some throws.

On the draft show right after Landry got picked, Trent Dilfer was saying the same things as was attributed to Gruden. He disregarded Landry's senior year because of what the OU offensive system was last year. He didn't waste any punches on the coaches or play-calling or the surrounding players. I think Pittsburgh got a steal and a guy like Bill Polian thought Landry was the best QB in the draft. He used to be the Colts GM when they got Peyton and a few other pretty good players so he knows what he is talking about.
