Rumor had it Terrel Owens may try out for the Chicago Bears. Letting go of Urlacher and maybe hiring T O? Something is wrong with that picture.

He also was catching passes from Tom Brady a few weeks ago, The Bears aren't going to sign him, this is nothing more than lip service by TO, the guy is almost 40, his NFL career is over. Nobody is going to offer Urlacher more than the Bears did, he should have taken it if he wanted to play, nobody is beating down his door with a contract yet, maybe he will sign with someone after the draft but I don't think he will get more money than the Bears offered. Sorry if I sound like the Bears GM, but I believe this is how it goes down.

I don't disagree with you but he's probably worth more than they offered to one particular team---da Bears. He is all they have in the form of leadership. He still makes plays, he's just hurt a lot.

They offered him what's he's worth, maybe even a little more. Cap Space is a little tighter this year for the Bears and with a new regime and with several holes to fill they can't afford to overpay for an aging vet that has had some injury issues.
That defense still has 5 other Pro Bowlers on it, with the likes of Julius Peppers, Lance Briggs and Peanut Tillman, lots of leaders still there. They might miss Urlacher making some calls and checks at the line of scrimmage but they seemed to manage ok at the end of the year when he missed the last 4 games.
If he stayed in Chicago he would have made a couple more million on probably endorsements alone it was estimated, since he is such an icon in the city. Time will tell but I think the Bears gave him more than a fair shake, I wish he would have took it and had 1 last run and fans had their chance to say good bye.
