Image by SkyRider Designs. It's the Homecoming Game this Friday, Artesia (1-1) will play Valencia (2-0) Valencia has beaten Moriarty 23-14 and Rio Grande 49-0. The first meeting between us happened last year in Los Lunas, the Bulldogs winning 49-16.

Valencia is playing good football. Hopefully Artesia's defense is ready for the run. I hear they have a good running game. I hope the offense improves and the mistakes are wiped out.

If we don't turn the ball over and eliminate the mistakes I think we will win. I thought our Defense played well enough for us to win last week but mistakes on offense and special teams killed it for us. I'd like to see us lean on the run game more, and then open it up with the passes, get some confidence going. So many mistakes last week, dropped passes, turnovers, etc I think we will be sharper this Friday Night and we can certainly win this game, man it's Homecoming!! I need a win so I can do some Highlights too

I think you're right there AO but it seems that Coach C lives and dies by the pass. I think the running game is good. On another subject I heard from a friend of mine that Roswell may be the "sleeper" this season. He saw the game between Roswell and Carlsbad and thought the Coyotes had Carlsbad against the ropes in the first quarter especially, the guy who's from Hobbs thought that Roswell has a good chance to defeat Hobbs if they play them throughout the game like they did against Carlsbad, they have a good chance to pull it off. Not that it matters I don't care who wins although I think Hobbs will win. Back to the 'dogs, I hope the defense plays solid and the running game is used more since the passing attack is not working too good.

Your right about Coach loving the pass, he will live or die by it I think we can pass the ball, the last drive in Lovington was pretty good, last Friday was just not a good night, lots of little mistakes but I think we are better than what we showed last week, I'm thinking Friday we can get back on track.

I truly am excited for every game but this one is a little different. Our defense IMO has been amazing compared to what everyone truly expected of them. I think we win the game but like you guys said we should run more. We have a 2 headed monster in Gallegos and Azua.

Go Dogs!!! Beat the Jags!!! I won't call the offense this week. Cooper can figure that out better than me. Valencia has a lot of speed we need to tackle well and wrap up. You don't want to give these guys a step or they will burn you.Good luck Dogs Play hard and have fun. We believe in you......

This Old D Coach would like to say to the D Coaches and the D players that I saw the old school Artesia D last night. SLOBBERKNOCKERS all over the field. You stuffed the option, You pursued with a tenacity of a great team and you continued to team tackle time after time. I was so proud of you and just wanted to say Great Job!

How can we improve our offense more. Our defense is literally carrying the team at this point. We wont survive our road test these next few weeks if they dont step up.

You're right Linus. The defense has got to continue doing what they do well but the offense and the special teams have got to up it up two notches. Deming is playing good football and LC will probably take state in 5A again.

Coach I can recite that speech nearly word for word and I read the Ray Eliot biography. Great memories. Man that guy could speak!
