Two things of interest I see are: 1) A Cassius Corley from Grants going to NMSU. The Dogs played a Stacey Corley from Grants in a 1985 playoff game. Grants won and eliminated us. Stacey Corley starred for BYU. 2) A Tim Foley from Rio Rancho signed with ENMU. Artesia had a Tim Foley in the early 1990's. He played and ran track at Boise State. The Bulldog Tim Foley was pretty large at 6'3 or so. The ENMU signee is 5'9, 185 lbs. No idea if there is a connection on either.

Dan Foley is his dad.

Thanks Randall, Pima JC must really scout NM, they got 4 RRHS, 1 Cleveland and 2 from LC. RR had 11 signees between the two schools vs 10 for all of Albuq. Rams had 6 total, now you know how frustrated I get when I dont see them advance in the playoffs!

I thought there was a Tim Foley from Rio Rancho that has been playing for UNM for a few years. He should just about be a senior by now. I thought that THAT Tim Foley was the cousin of Artesia's Tim Foley. The Artesia Tim Foley was a badass DB. He reminded me a LOT of Kirby Wheeler who played in 2006. Artesia's Tim Foley went on to star at Boise and broke many records there. He went on to play in Canada for a few years...don't remember which CFL team Artesia's Tim Foley played for.
Maybe the Rio Rancho Foley who is going to ENMU transferred from UNM? Now that I think about it I think I heard that somewhere.

Tim Foley of Artesia could bring it. At one time the two safeties playing for Randy Dickerson were Foley and Jeff Houghtaling. The duo of Mike Allen and Randy Dickerson were known for coaching extremely physical defensive backs. These were two of the finest.

Tim Foley is transferring from UNM where he walked on a couple of years ago to ENMU. I believe he will do extremely well. His little brother, Tristen, is graduating this year from Rio Rancho and has signed with Pima JC to play next fall. Their dad, Dan Foley, is Tim Foley's (Artesia safety) older brother.

And yes Randall, I know that is not what you were saying! I think that NMSU signs very good athletes! The problem with NMSU football is the lack of support from the University. The coaching staff is also a problem. The University has to be REALLY behind the football program in order for it to be successful! The University HAS to show a commitment to the football program. They have to be behind it 100%! And so far NMSU has been unwilling to turn loose of the money to field a competitive team. I have always thought that if you take the athletes that NMSU signs, and plug them into a different program with different coaches...such as Texas or OU...they would field an average D-1 team. Not a national championship caliber team......but an AVERAGE D-1 team. And that would definitely be a step up from what they have now.

Best thing to happen to NMSU football is Carruthers as President of the University. Two biggest issues for the program....small market(tv etc) and lack of large corporate sponsors. IMO
