Two games in Albuq were cancelled last night. Manzano was leading Cibola 27 - 0 late in first half and LaCueva was leading Valley 21 -7 also late in first half. Both games started late. Games cancelled, all teams end up wioth 9 games. Both leading coaches were mad, wanted to finish the half, Manzano had 56.9 seconds and LaCueva 1.12 to make it an official game. LaCueva coach Beck thinks it will hurt his team for seeding. Weather was clear when game called, coaches have a good point IMO.

Yeah I would be upset too, so it's like they never even played on the record books then?
If they can't finish the game nobody gets a win or loss but they should at least let the score stand when the game was called to factor into seeding if significant enough.

The article didnt say anything about the individual records. Anothewr case of the NMAA having too much power. Alot of local coaches are mad at the Lobos for playing Friday night and taking attention away from their games. Being on ESPN2 for the exposure and the $300,000 is important but I agree with th local hs coaches.

ESPN and its big bucks need reined in badly. I'm kinda sick of espn too, but they pretty much dominate the sports market, got to tune in to watch the games, can't win.

So if the weather was clear, why did they cancel the games? Just doesn't sound right.

So if the weather was clear, why did they cancel the games? Just doesn't sound right. maybe lightning nearby? with the incident in Las Cruces I could see why nobody would want to take any chances.

What the heck............

What the heck............ Yeah I was, Deltabulldawg said last week Cruces has some kids out right now due to injury, still a pretty big win because Cruces is usually a pretty deep team. Looks like Centennial is for real.

Well, you know who coaches Centennial? probably now the best coach in Las Cruces. I know he coached Monzano in ABQ for a while. Yep with coach Ocampo Centennial Hawks are for real. The AHS Bulldogs are for real too... The defense was outstanding last night IMO even though the Cavemen had a good running QB. Go Dogs beat the Dawgs...

Centennial is tough no doubt. They are going to go a long way this season. Cruces is still without some of their key starters and some of them probably wont even be back when we play you next week. the Dawgs lost the game on the kick return right before half, that was the difference in this game. The game over all was pretty good, both teams going back and forth. I see a shoot out with you as well!

Did anybody notice Albuq High won last night beating Highland 47-8?. This broke a state record 43 consecutive game losing streak. Congrats to the Bulldogs and Coach Flakes.
