Searching games for the pickem noticed Aztec uniforms, not sure if they are new or not, haven't seen them since they beat us in Bulldog Bowl, would love to have them back this year. Currently 5-2 beat last years state champ Farmington 35-28 this past week.

Good God Man. What in the hell is that in the 1st pic, looks like some prison jump suits that someone threw in the San Juan River and then took a Dump in that same river and it mixed in with the colors and they floated down to Farmington where they fished em out and ironed some numbers on them.
As for the 2nd pic, well my dad always said, never trust a truck driver with a blue watch, wearing slacks with a can of skoal in his front pocket.
WORLD SERIES TOMORROW GUYS!!!!
Kansas City got this, besides those guys from San Fran like to switch hit, I ain't down with that.
Good Night and God Bless.

OK, I'll be the first to say it. I dig the black jerseys. Not as cool as Artesia High, circa 1970-88, but black jerseys were cool. I guess somebody decided they weren't real Bulldog colors, but hey, we won.

Black Jersies look OK but those orange pants are ugly. Bones the Black Jersey and Black pants were the best Dog Uni of all time There is no doubt about that. And yes the orange pants, THOSE orange pants are hideous. Artesia wears much better looking orange pants. I never, in my career, wore orange pants or a white jersey. I would have preferred all black at home and black pants and white jerseys on the road. But there's a reason no one asked. I have no style.

Bones,
I've seen you dress, and you are right! (no style). hahaha...The 80's Bulldog unis were the best.. In the early 90's we had a uniform shortage for the 9th, so I ask Coach Henderson if I could use the old black varsity pants, (I had ordered Black Jerseys with orange trim).
At that time the lights at Morris Field were being replaced, so the 9th grade 'had' to play home games in the Bowl, so here we come down the ramp in all black, and orange helmets...(we looked great), won by a bunch. (The Varsity players asked Coach Henderson if THEY could wear black, and he was not pleased. We had different uniforms for the 9th grade the next year..

Kenny,
We had baseball pants like those orange ones, no leg stripe, but a black orange black waistband, in the late 80's Wore them in the '87 State Championship Game when we Beat Lovingtion 16-6.
Of course they weren't near as ugly at the 'Houston Astro' unis

I wonder what the reason is that coach won't allow black uniforms?

In my opinion, there are several reasons...
#1 Coach Henderson came from old school Artesia Orange and White #2 Coach Henderson is the Head Coach so he can say what the team wears #3 Coach Henderson wanted to change the 'climate' so a change in uniforms was called for #4 Coach Henderson doesn't like black, (see reason #2)
#5 In 1989 a quarterback club member told Coach Henderson that if we wore black we would win! (We were stuggling through a bad season).

I liked the solid black unis...black pants and black jerseys. But I also thought that the black pants with the white jerseys & black numbers was extra sharp. I actually liked the black and white combo better than the solid black.

As for the new Aztec unis.....ANYTHING beats those gray flannel pajamas that they wore in 2010. They even wore them in the 2010 state championship game at Bulldog Bowl. I couldn't believe that a high school team would wear something like that. Looked more like something that a financially strapped junior high team would wear. They reminded me of those gray sweats that we use to wear when I ran track at Park Jr High way back in the early 1970s. They just looked cheap! They are wearing them in this video of the 2010 Aztec/Artesia title game...........credit goes to Agent Orange for the video.

That was Michael McPherson's senior year.

Maybe Someday we can wear black, but not until there is someone different coaching it sounds like As for the Aztec unis, the black and orange don't look good to me. I think the grey's look better. I think the Tiger on the helmet is better than the Paw Print they had, I always associated it with Bulldogs and not tigers. To each their own I guess.
