I'm going to vent & ramble here.
That video on the Dog Pile has gotten 172k views on facebook, which that's awesome wish I had monetization on I could have maybe made $10 and bought a burrito with it.
People don't have to like it, there are more that like it than not but there will always be haters online, some comments are real vile and I just delete them not sure how that video angers them so much but ??. The main gripe though is maybe someone getting hurt and it's stupid for that reason.
My defense is we've been doing it a long long time, we know we were doing it in 1972 so that's 50 years. Is there risk? sure I guess so but SOB there is risk in everything we do in life. In 7th grade I remember Coach Rex Robinson god rest his soul we would read the back of the helmet warning it seemed like daily, keep your head up, etc etc and no helmet can protect you from brain/neck injury including paralysis or death.
We knew the risk, we played on.
I can't recall anyone getting seriously hurt by this and anyone else I've talked to, sure someone may have gotten a scratch or a bruise nothing serious or we wouldn't be doing it all this time. That's the proof there not much risk at all in it.
I Still have someone say well it just takes once. Oh my God, I think of The Bulldog Football program as an extension partly of raising up young men, these guys will be registering for selective service soon with the way things are going they maybe needed or maybe even join the service my brother did but we shouldn't do a dog pile because someone may get hurt lol. God help us if we are that soft.
These are young healthy men who run and lift weights I don't get it.
I'll share this guy comment, don't go blast him I don't want that but I can't believe this. Just had to vent, tired of responding to comments like this, maybe should just turn comments off. Anyways.
