Looking back there’s a lot of underrated players in the Artesia program, what are some players that were integral that we don’t hear about as often? Man so many I reckon through the years, I think O-line probably overlooked a lot, you are only noticed if you make a mistake. Big Ricky was a standout this year and got recognition but a lot that don't. Bias on my part but 2006 O-Line was fantastic, of course they had Landry Jones but they were a great group with good size. My Brother Eric Hamilton Payton Kirpatrick Brian McCaleb Chris Bolen Gucci Lopez Destry Braswell My brother was the LT, I told this to him and I was dead serious, don't you get Landry Jones hurt, if you do we will have to sell our house and leave town.

Randall I completely agree that Oline has always been overlooked all across the spectrum and Artesia has had so many unsung heroes up front otherwise they couldn’t have run this kind of offense so effectively for over 30 years now. I know In the 90s and 2000s there were the Jose Martinez and Jimmy Hamiltons that played college ball I just know there’s a few more that I’m missing that can remember. I know Eastern was getting Artesia kids there for a bit.

Marc West went on to play rugby at UNM even tho with his size and speed I was shocked he didn’t have D-1 offers left and right. Some of the Eastern names I could gather from a reliable source in the late 90s were Martinez,Hamilton,Olivas,Deans and Mendoza so there was a pretty decent stretch of Artesia players going on to college ball at one point.

DO WE KNOW IF ANY OF THE BOYS FROM THE PAST YEARS AND THIS YEAR ARE PLAYING COLLEGE BALL ANYWHERE??? From 2022: I’m pretty sure that Riley Jarrett is still at NM highlands, and I heard Peyton Deans is back at a NM school (from AZ), but that he’s still looking to play ball somewhere. From 2023: *My understanding is Ricky (Armendariz) is the only one with real interest, and that he will probably play college ball at NMMI or ENMU. *Several others have offers to small NM schools, but I don’t think anyone else has plans to commit/play. *I have heard that LeRoch is working hard to get his knee rehabilitated, and is looking to play next level. He had an ENMU offer prior to the injury. Not sure if that’s still in the table. *Juan Diego Duran has an ENMU offer for (Defensive Back); but I think he has several Track & Field opportunities to consider.

Nothing to do with Football but saw this the other day. You know any of these guys BDC ? Look at that score, that don’t score like that these days. Cool find. And yes. I do know a majority of these players. #24 and #30 are the Molina twins. Don't know which is which but they are Dr. Roberto Molina and Dr. Reymundo Molina, an Ophthalmologist and a PHD Counselor. Both practice in Deming NM. #12 is Harold Morrow, CPA at Morrow & Company in Deming NM. Next o him on his left is Miguel "Mike" Jaime, retired principle who won a state title in softball at Hobbs in the early 80's. He was also my assistant coach in the early 2000's when I was running our Jr. High football program. Great man and great mentor. I believe #14 is Dick Pool, former Deming Football and Basketball coach. He later served as Superintendent in Silver City in the late 90's, early 2000's. #20 was Jesus “Chuy” Galindo, coached at Lordsburg, NM, Deming, NM, Douglas, AZ, and Las Vegas, NV. He passed away on December 6, 2021 of cancer. And #22 is Kenneth Leupold, former Deming English teacher, basketball coach, Head Volleyball coach and served as the Director of WNMU in Deming NM. Now retired in Florida.
