Kayci is undergoing some serious surgeries today to keep her eligible for the heart transplant. Extra prayers today. I read where the first part of the surgeries went well though.

I did what I could in taking part in fundraisers for her, even though I don't know her. I don't believe in God or any of that nonsense, so I will give credit to the doctors who did their job well.
Glad to hear things are looking up!

Buffhomer,
My name is Joby Houghtaling and I am Ty's oldest brother. On behalf of sweet Kayci, my brother Ty, and his precious wife Jennifer, I would like to thank you for your involvment in fund raisers for Kayci. I would also like to thank you for your concern for Kayci and your credit to the doctors who have worked tirelessly on Kayci. I too am very thankful for the doctors and nurses, modern medicine, and the technologies available that have been used on Kayci thus far during this difficult time. At the same time, as a Christian, I am very thankful to God and His faithfulness.
After reading your comments I cannot help but feel compelled to share with you the faith that my family shares in God. I would love to meet with you at your convenience and buy you dinner at your choice of restaurant and visit with you about all things Bulldogs (football, band, basketball, volleyball, FFA, choir, track, baseball, etc. etc.) as it is obvious to me that you are a great Bulldog fan. As an Artesia graduate and having been blessed to play for and be involved with Bulldog sports and many other extracurricular activities, as well as watch my brothers and now my sons be very involved, I too am an avid Bulldog fan. In addition, I would like to share with you my testimony about God and what He has done for me and my family through the years. I can be reached at jhoughtaling@hotmail.com or you can call me directly at 575-308-3146. Please feel free to e-mail or call anytime and I look forward to meeting you and talking about our beloved Bulldogs as well as my faith that I would like to share with you.
I would also like to thank everyone on this message board who has prayed for, thought of, or been involved in any fund raisers for Kayci. My offer extends to any and all who might read this message and would like to share a meal and visit about our Bulldogs and God's mighty power.

FROM KAYCI'S GRANDMOTHER Susan Needham Sitting here in Kayci's room looking at a monitor that reflects steady heart rate, blood pressures, oxygen saturations, etc. and it absolutely floors me with how loving our God is!! When I feel her hands or feet, they are warm again! We have now had a full night and day with strong vitals. I think Kayci and her new heart are going to be "friends" now.

Please pray for Ty, Jennifer, Clay, Cael and the entire Houghtaling and Needham family as sweet Kayci has passed this morning and is now whole again in heaven. On behalf of our entire family thanks to all who have been supportive through diligent prayers and in many other ways. God has and will continue to comfort and deliver us through this tough time.
It is my sincere hope and prayer that if anyone reading this message board does not know Jesus as their savior that they will consider choosing His mercy and accepting His free gift of salvation. I would be happy to share with you anywhere and anytime what the Bible says about God's love for us all.
Joby R Houghtaling

I don't know what to say, other than I feel for this family, as I've said my son was in her class last year, was going to be again this year, desk was next to his. I've seen this little girl get several awards for being a good student at school, you could tell she was going places in her life.
I second godogs09 salvation message, I'm not perfect by any means i'm human but you never know when your time is going to come, me personally I've lost loved ones with no sign or warning, here today and gone tomorrow, be prepared and accept God's love, death is not the end, it's only the beginning. I don't know when my time will come but I'll be ready and I know where I'm headed.
My heart goes out to the Houghtaling family.
