"" Just because Kyle picked Cleveland to win does not make him hate the South. "" I did not hear the pre-game Kyle Henderson had on the Artesia-Cleveland game that CrispysDad refers to,,,but I sure would like to,,,!!!! I plan to contact them Monday to see if a copy is available for comment. It is NOT available on the NMPERPS web site. What I do see is the follow-up of the game on NMPERPS is same old chit you read from the "Northern reporters" that are always slanted against the southern teams, especially Artesia. There are several short videos of the game on his site now that are certainly slanted for Cleveland. NMPERPS didn't do that for all the other games this week,,,,,and,,,NMPERPS has named the Cleveland RB as Player of the week,,with his picture in the middle of Bulldog Bowl even,,,!!!!,never mind the RB's from RR or LL didn't get very much coverage,, ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) Yes, you can almost hear Kyle chortling about the game result. Is he a biased northern reporter,,? YOU make the call. Like CrispysDad and a whole lot of others in this neck of the woods, I dislike the obvious slant that the northern reporters are always throwing out,!! I console myself by NOT buying their papers, magazines or anything they try to sell me. OH,,and I see the shiny new Dodge trk that Tate Branch DODGE has supplied him,,,,,,,,I ain't gonna ask Tate to do anything,,,,,I'm just gonna ask him if he KNOWS,,,,, Sevenjrs, this is what everybody is talking about. This is what Mr Henderson said in his preview of the Artesia/Cleveland game on his site NMPreps............. "Cleveland vs. Artesia - Come on man, you know Artesia can't hang with big time 6A schools!!! Storm be rollin through Eddy County - The Pick: Cleveland".

Well Artesia hung in there with Cleveland. They have hung in there with many of the 6 A schools. I think they would beat more 6 A schools than lose to them. Mr. Henderson is wrong. I have never subscribed to him and won't. What I will do is root for the Bulldogs to beat Los Lunas and take number 30 this year. Maybe if Artesia gets to be a larger school population wise they WILL win 6 A state championships nearly each year.

Hey Thanks Dognation,,,,NOW,,I see why CrispysDad was so upset,,,I would of been upset as well, if I had of heard that trash,,,,,yep that's what they call it in the locker rooms,,,Trash talkin, Man,,,,,Trash talkin,,,,, But Hey,,they did beat the Dogs, but most importantly,,,The Dogs proved they CAN "hang" with 6A schools,,,their vaunted defense did NOT shut the Dogs out and the final score proves it. You see,,,if he really "LOVES" the southern teams, like somebody else here claims, he could have pointed that little tidbit out, but, maybe he forgot where he got the new trk,,,,,,,,,,and the refs cheated too,,,,,,

Thanks for that dognation, saved me the time of looking it up and having to see KH's smug mug. Not the first time he's gibed at Artesia. I still don't like him

I'm missing why this was so important? The game? Was looking forward to it because it pitted last years 6A champion against last years 5A champion. Two great teams and well deserving recognition for both programs. It allowed that big school to gauge itself against a smaller but arguably tuff school. When you have the ability to pull from a big area like rio rancho that means they get some great talent. And lots of it. Bulldogs have this town of 11,000+ to pull from. And this is what they pull. Kids that are oilfield tuff and full heart drivin to want to succeed. Not just in football but in life. I've met many players from the past and they have always told me they have put there teachings from football to help lead them. Gentleman let this game go for what it was. A measuring stick. It showed the dogs what is needed to help win the next game. I hope you guys can let what Kyle said go as nothing more then his pick of the week. Cause next year he will probley pick the dogs to upset Cleveland at home. Just how things go in our state of football. From what I watched Bulldogs hung in with Cleveland some stupid penalties and some bad luck hey it happens. Wasn't district and it wasn't worth loosing your minds right? Let them talk there trash. We love that cause it's been done for years. Cause at the end of it all come December only a few teams get that honor of holding up that title. Let's cheer on our boys in orange on there quest for number 30. GO DOGS!

Wow 4 pages on a game thread, we haven't had that in awhile. This game meant something to us, especially us fans, although it won't matter too much in the grand scheme of the season, we wanted this game. We were so undersized compared to Cleveland but I didn't see anyone on that field back down, a few kids took some good lumps out there but I saw them get back up and keep on going. That makes you proud. I saw that comment all over Facebook, we can't hang with big time 6A teams, to me that's insulting as a Artesian. I try not to take it personal but it certainly doesn't sit well with me, all of my family were bulldogs, 2 of them honored at that game for 76 and 96 State Titles and my brother was 06 but didn't make it down here, they didn't back down to anyone, my son is a Bulldog as well. I think comments like that are mostly just done for a purpose because it will spread like wildfire all over the internet and draw more attention to that website. Maybe not the smartest move though to tick off the Artesia fan base, especially if Tate Branch gives you a truck to drive around, that's a pretty nice perk. How about I like Cleveland to win the game Friday, that would have been enough. Oh well, on to Los Lunas, maybe we can hang with them ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

If you go back and read the posts in this thread, save one post from an irate fan regarding the officiating (happens every game by many people), all positive. Mine and sevenjrs reference to ,,,,,,,,and the refs cheated too,,,,,,,,,were obvious pokes at fun regarding that post. What blew this thread up was the comment from KH during his pick, and the response from a passionate fan. That being said , I hope that this horse is dead.

"I'm missing why this was so important?"............it's important to ME because it is like somebody spitting in your coffee or glass of tea right in front of you, and then laughing in your face about it. You seem to be saying that his remark......."Come on man, you know Artesia can't hang with big time 6A schools"..........shouldn't bother us and just roll off our backs because WE know that it isn't true. It doesn't matter if it's true or not, that is not the point. It is out-and-out disrespect! It is a slap in the face! And as passionate Bulldog fans we don't take stuff like that lying down. Especially coming from a northerner who lives in Santa Fe, or wherever the heck he lives. That's just my 2 cents.

Guys calm down. Kyle Henderson has done a great job of putting the spotlight on New Mexico High School Football. You cannot find anyone that is more impressed with Bulldog Football besides him. Most who have never been a part of program come across as jealous. Kyle made an honest assessment based on things he knew about both teams. Those of us that have been a part of the program understand it does not matter how many A's are next to your name, Artesia will show up. Kyle has given great support to Coach Henderson and many of the players. Heck he was like Landry Jones's PR agent . You know me well enough to know if I thought he was being disrespectful I would get all over him and I know for a fact he was not being disrespectful. He is from Clayton NM and married a Lovington girl. He has stated many times he would love for his son to play in Bulldog Nation. Thanks for listening

The Artesia bulldog program has nothing to prove to anyone. They have beaten the best they have lost to the best. You guys want to get your blood pumping for some some comments about they not being able to hang with a 6A team go ahead. I hope the dogs said hey we hung with them almost step for step. Tonight just wasn't our night lets learn and come back next Friday agains the Tigers. Slap in the face spit in the coffee aside hey it's part of the game. Goddard loves to talk trash Roswell high too. Your proud of our dogs I'm proud of them too. Let's just calm down a bit cause guys lets face it, it's Sunday now time to start the new thread Randell lol. Put it up so we can move on lol😁

lol I'm over it just licking my wounds ha ha.
Speaking of licking wounds, I'm a little concerned about the 2 young men hurt against Cleveland, I heard they might be out, maybe to early to tell but it's something I heard.

Well Guys,,I been thinking bout this "Kyle" thing since he made his comment and after reading and re-reading all the posts of this long and very interesting post, I still think he was out of line and only trying to appease his following from the north. The comment was insulting and dis-respectful coming from an individual supposedly representing NMPERPS. I understand social media is having a field day with it as well.. CharlieDog, it's obvious you have a great liking for this person, although all his attributes you list, putting a spotlight on NMHS football, Being impressed with Bulldog football, honest assesment of both teams, support for coach Henderson, Landry's PR agent, stating he wished his son could play for the Dogs, have all been negated by his tastless and hurtful comment that was made for the sole purpose of appeasing his northern audience. I'm sure by this time he has been made very aware of the firestorm he has started,,,yet,,,nothing,,! Him being a public figure, he should be aware of the all too possible negative feedback and consequences when you suffer from that nasty "Foot in Mouth" malady. Like several commentators, politicians and professional athletes have recently discovered, you CAN and most likely will lose your followers and sponsors. I find it hard to believe of his implied good thoughts of our Artesia Bulldogs,,,just sayin,,,,,,,

He has done more for HS football than anyone in the History of the media. More kids are getting attention and he has over a 1000 subscribers to his site from all around NM. He gets emails every week saying WHY DO YOU HATE THE SOUTH? WHY DO YOU HATE THE NORTH. What is the Dogs record against top 6A schools the last few years. They play close but wins have not been abundant.

AS an outsider ill say this, Bulldog fans are die hard and loyal, and back to the death the best program in the state. So who gives a rats ass what anyone says about you. God forbid a business man write some inflammatory comment about you. God forbid any one speak ill-will against the mighty bulldogs, and it be looked at as disrespect. You guys played a great game against the defending 6A state champs so leave it at that. At least your not Lovington hahahahahahaha

Come on,,,Charliedog,!!!!!,,,,,that right there is almost as bad a taunt as the Kyle fellow's was. NONE of his alleged attributes give him the right to talk trash on the air about ANY team and him saying what he did,,I would be hard pressed to believe he harbors any affections for the Bulldogs, much less him wanting his kid to play here,!! Pure and simple,,he was out of line,, disrespecting one of the highest quality football programs in the state and,,,,and,,,,it ain't gonna hurt my feelings if he loses that new Dodge trk,,,,,,,,cause I know Tate is a diehard Bulldog fan,,,,,,,

This will counter any "Artesia cant hang with 6A schools" talk. I was under the weather and decided to watch the Monzano vs RR game on Proview (Channel 26). They were giving scores in the second half and were very complimentary to Artesia, They said Artesia could beat most teams in 6A and for a city with small population they always put out 30 to 40 good players. Don't know who the announcers are but think they are from the Abq area. To put this in perspective I grew up in a ciy in western Ny with almost the same population, maybe 1 to 2 thousand more and we were lucky to end up with 30 players at the end of the season and maybe 5 were good players. Playing tough schedule only helps come playoff time.
