I didn't know this until yesterday.
Aztec is now in 4A, 43 kids on Roster. Shocked about that one.
I'm so lost on the alignment and districts now.

Now that is confusing. Someone who may know, please explain The numbers that Randall posted for Artesia and Aztec are based on 2 different things. Aztec's numbers are for grades 9-12, and Artesia's numbers are for grades 10-12. Actually, the number for Artesia should include the 9th grade freshman class, as that is how high school enrollment is suppose to be counted. You would have to know how many kids are in the 9th grade at Park Jr High, then add that number to the 859 that is shown for Artesia above. 9th grade is actually considered high school as far as credits are concerned. Artesia just happens to be one of those few places where the 9th graders are at a different campus. There are others......can't think if any right now......but most places have all 4 grades together at the actual high school campus. |

It’s close enough that Aztec is in our classification in every other sport..... we are both 4A in everything else! We move up to 5A for football only.
