I wasn't sure where to put this and will be brief but did want to say Thank You to our administration, our businesses and our sponsors, many of which are on this board, for helping me arrange the use of the bowling center so that our kids can defend their 2012 New Mexico AAAA State Championship. The lease is paid and practice has begun with 34 AHS students ready to get our season started! Thanks again, the kids and I appreciate it!
Randall, please feel free to move this to the appropriate board. Thanks.
Coach Ken Clayton

They all sound really good to me. Of course, you have to realize I usually had a hard time breaking 100 when I played much. The good news is that I did make up for it when I started playing golf where I break 100 at least 9 times out of 10.
Good luck on the season! I look forward to following the team's progress.

A short update to those that follow our AHS Bowling team. The kids have their first tournament on Saturday at the Starlight Lanes in the Santa Ana Casino. We are tired of practicing against each other and ready for some real competition. Our team is very young but have worked very hard and I am sure that work is going to show starting this week.
I am proud of my 29 AHS students and look forward to seeing them represent Artesia High School. The best high school bowling program in the state beginning their journey of defending their State Championship sure sounds fun to this coach! Thanks guys for the support.

Prior to a RRHS game this year the Cleveland Bowling coach was interviewed. He used to be a pro and has something like 18 or 19 perfect games. One of his bowlers is not at Whichita, a bowling powershouse. He talked about how the bowlers also get scholorships, are they full scholorships and how many per team? Can you answe my questions AHS Bowling Coach?

Mikemoe1, Coach Tillery is a great guy, a really good bowler and coach. Our program and the Cleveland program mirror each other in a lot we do. We are not in the same division so we have a tradition of practicing together at the state tournament. Matt Helmick is at Wichita State and doing great. Scholarships vary per school but are available at many colleges. All schools compete at the same level in the NCAA. West Texas A&M has multiple men's and woman's national championships. At least four NM kids compete for WT. We have had some offers but this year we should see our first bowler accepted at WT to bowl, we just have to keep working.

You have to keep an eye on those bowling coaches that used to be a pro and have a bunch of 300 games great practice today. I had a group of my new bowlers throw 11 strikes in a row to end today's practice!! The kids are ready for Saturday.

I had a group of my new bowlers throw 11 strikes in a row to end today's practice!! The kids are ready for Saturday. Mr. Bowlcoach is too humble! He too has thrown double digit 300 games and bowled in pro events. After watching him throw several 299's I finally got to witness a 300. It's definitely not a coincidence that our kids are bowling good. Keep up the good work. Now Mr. Asst Bowlcoach, even i can beat that guy!!! Haha just kidding GM! I miss our Monday night league and wish the alley was still open.

Cdel58, we are bowling in Las Cruces on Saturday at 1:00! Kids did well this weekend. First competitive game ever for 18 of my bowlers. Tough lane condition. It was a Democratic shot. They decided to put a really low oil pattern out so that everyone can throw a hook. Problem is that bowlers that have worked to learn to hook the ball correctly pay the price. Happens sometimes but my gang had a great attitude and we learned a lot.

Hey Jax, I actually did. There were not a lot of warm options in Pennsylvania when I was growing up! Worked for my bowling game though. The team is really ready for Las Cruces this weekend. We had a great week of practice. I rarely bowl with the kids but did tonight and had a blast. Great kids. Some of them can sure give the coach a good run!
