I would like to respond to the fans calling these boys quitters. For starters has the season started? There were kids that played and started last year that went to none of the off season practices. Football starts monday and my son will not be one of the players this year. He came back last year and played after tearing his ACL, last year I think he needed the confidence to say that his knee was fine. I think that these kids need to make there own choices, it is their lives, not yours and the people trying to live through them. I will support him in whatever he choses to do. By the way he personally told Coach Henderson before Spring Break last year that he would not play. There are many people that I told last year that he would not play this year, he didnt want to play. I encouraged him to play last year to prove to himself that his knee was fine and to instill confidence in himself. Last year he was told by one of our coaches, that he was not good enough to play on the high school baseball team, that he had started on for the previous two years on. He was told that he was not good enough to play on the high school team or college baseball and that him and other players were throwing games because Coach Foster was not the coach any more. He would never do that and was blamed for that any time that he had an error in a game or did not get a hit. He will play on 3 travel teams during the Fall trying to get a scholarship and play the sport that he loves baseball. So do I think these guys are quitters, no! They have made a decision not to play a sport that has not even started. If they were starters and chose not to play this year it is still their choice! Go support these kids that are playing football, and every kid playing the other sports in this town. We are suppossed to be building these kids up, not tearing them down for choosing not to play the sport that we think is important. Quitting has never been an option for my kids, and this school is the only school that i know of that will give a kid an F if they quit. I am not trying to start a fight with fans but there is still a team that deserves your support, support them and quit worrying about the ones not on the field.

I agree bulldog 18, I agree. I know one former bulldog who years ago, I mean years ago was discouraged to be on the basketball team. He was told he wasn't good enough and he joined track and did excellent in it. Don't mess with mom when she's advocating for kids especially her own. Go 'dogs beat Lovington.

Loved the video! From 2:45 on, that is something I can remember him instilling in our team; to not only have the short term goal of winning a state championship, but to have that long term goal of becoming a successful person in life. This team seems to be young, but if they work together, they can do amazing things.
Beat them wildcats!

Some of these comments on here make me sick, starting to sound like sore losers like Goddard was at one time (yes, I had a cousin that played for Goddard and really made me sick to hear them) !
Sure is good for the kids to read too, or is this still about the KIDS? I hope they prove all these negative comments wrong! Yes it may be a motivator, but that will depend on how the kids take it to heart!
Randall needs to clear this topic, just leave the poll up but comments need to go!

It is about who wants to play, period. They might be slower and not as strong but, if they want it bad enough they will compete. Just like 45 said.
Might lose some games this year. They will get experience and be tough the next few years.
