This game could be interesting, Alamo has a tough schedule for sure, played 1 less game overall too, surely they will be scraping for their playoff life as we should be too.
With that said, say we win, Artesia might have a chance for the 4 Seed, Bulldogs at 6-4 last year came away with the 4 seed and a bye week. We did have a district win over Roswell though last year, and a narrow loss against Goddard, not the case this year, if not 4 then I think we may come in at 5. All subjective though.
Got plenty of work cut out for them either way.
I do like Roswell High over Goddard, should be a great game. If Roswell takes it. #1 Roswell #2 Los Lunas #3 Goddard #4 Farmington/PV/Artesia ?
I think we need PV to beat Farmington, a 9-1 Farmington team would probably be hard to pass up for #4 seed is my guess, hope PV can win gives us a little more edge as Roswell just shut down PV 35-0, we fared much better than that.
We shall see how it all goes down this weekend, sadly I might have to work late Friday and might miss this game, rare I have to work that late but special circumstances this Friday. Anyways, Go Dogs.

Artesia needs to win big over Alamo. I will be surprised if we get a 4 seed. 6-4 with only one win in district probably won’t impress the NMAA. District Champ Farmington or PV will probably get the 4 seed. Go Dogs! Beat Alamo. Might be a good thing for Artesia to be the 5 seed. It gives us another week to get hungry and better.

Have faith that Artesia will score big with several touchdowns. Not so much faith in the defense. Go dogs defeat the tigers. Artesia will be seeded in fifth or sixth

I think the best we can do is the 5 seed. PV will be 8-2 if they win their District, with losses to Los Lunas and Roswell. If Farmington wins, they’ll finish 9-1. That District champion will likely get the 4 seed.

I'm looking forward to the game, its been a long time since I been back to Artesia. Is La Fonda still a good place to eat at?

I dont think Alamogordo will be able to defend against the Artesia wide outs/slots. If Houghtaling gets in a rythm and keeps his eyes downfield they should win by 2 or 3 touchdowns. Defense will probably play poorly again. Nothing can be done at this point to fix that. I'll say Dogs 55-28 over the Tigers.

If I was Farmington, I would be miffed, not that they are better but 5-4 vs 8-1? If that isn't worth something then why are they playing the game.

At 8-1 Farmington has played weaker opponents. Only 3 winning records and a total opponents record of 35-43. The Bulldogs at 5-4 have played 6 opponents with winning records and an opponents record of 50-31. I know strength of schedule is not one of the criteria, but Max Preps does weigh it in their rankings. Right now the Bulldogs have a rating of 15.3 to Farmington’s 10.6.in Max Preps. Hopefully PV wins and we get the 4 seed, PV 5 and Farmington 6. Of course after we take care of Alamo!

Trust me , I know how it works, lets not even have playoffs and just give it to the team with the highest ratings. It's called incentive, incentive to win your conference. If wins and losses don't matter, lets give everyone a ribbon.

Even though we have a tougher schedule, we have not beat anybody of note. What is our signature win, Lovington? Deming? Ruidoso? Defense needs to step it up or we are out in the first round.

If wins and losses don't matter, lets give everyone a ribbon. I don't get what you're saying here. You like a tough schedule right? Deming will win their district at 8-2 probably. I don't think they should be ranked above us. The rankings are only a guide to look at not criteria for seeding like he said, but I think they should matter to an extent, then there is no incentive to play anybody. We would always be a low seed because we play in the toughest district by far.

Nothing will be changed. Just concentrate on Alamogordo. I think Artesia at end will be seeded 5th. Farmington will beat PV

that's true bdogfan but if you can jockey for the 4 Seed you definitely want it.
could be the difference of being at home in the 2nd round vs heading to Farmington. Easy choice lol.
but yeah just need to win is the main thing, find ways overcome our shortcomings.

well,,,,knowing what I do,,,,,AND,,, Farmington being a "North" team, they will be #4 and Artesia will be #5. Even with our record, That is the true value Of playing such a tough schedule up front. TOO many fans always want to drop those toughies for easier games but this right here is why we need to stay the course.
