Hobbs Nice pics Randall......Watson Memorial in Hobbs is the largest high school stadium in New Mexico......15,000 seats.....that's almost 3 times what Bulldog Bowl holds.....and just 5,000 less than Ratliff Stadium in Odessa.

Thank you. More to come, every town I go through I'm going to try to get pictures of the Football Fields.
Yup, it's a big venue, they got the video board, they got some smart lightning too of some type when they score touchdowns, indoor facility. Biggest school in the state, I think they got some deep pockets over there too from oil and gas revenue.
One thing I noticed as well, Lovington put their NMAA bowl win up with their state titles. Thought that was interesting.
I'm sure you guys know but if not click on the picture and then click again and you will see it in full size.

Can you imagine how stupid hot that is going to be? Not just hot, but STUPID hot! Somebody wasn't thinking. I'll give them 2 years and they'll go back to a more traditional turf. I can not over-emphasize just how hot that is going to be! It will result in heat exhaustion and heat stoke, no doubt. Not just for players, but think of the older and elderly officiating crews! The ONLY thing I can think of is that they must have been planning to use it to their advantage...........like letting grass turf grow extra long before a game to slow down an opponents running game........thinking that they could become acclimated to the heat, while visiting teams would suffer. Still can't wrap my head around this.

Last year Mansfield Lake Ridge had a Freshmen RB that was starter. He was a beast. He had offers from 10 D-1 schools as a Frosh. Aledo has long been accused of recruiting. Lo and behold the starting RB for Aledo is our Frosh RB who moved to Aledo

He probably has a fourth or fifth cousin who lived in Aledo years ago, so he could claim having relatives there that he could reside with.

I did a little research on SUNY Morrissville. I called my brother Jim, he said they havent been playing for more than 10 years. Dosent know why they have a black field, may be to get noticed since the program isnt very good. Its about halfway between Syracuse and Utica, pretty country. Its Div 3, gives a lot of players who dont have the ability for D1 or 2 a chance to play. i probably could have played at that level but wasnt very smart (still the same) and didnt have th grades. A team like Artesia could probably put another 5 or more players in the D3 level other than the ones that go to NM or Tex small schools. I think the big difference is the D3 teams dont have the top speed.

All these Turf Fields, which looks nice but give me a good grass field any day. Are there any good ones still out there? not to mention more injuries on turf.
research found 16% more injuries per play on artificial turf compared to grass. The authors concluded that if all games had been played on grass during that period there would have been 319 fewer foot and leg injuries. Looking only at non-contact injuries the risk was even higher, about 20% more injuries per play.
Probably not many soccer fans here but there is a reason World Cup matches will only take place on grass fields.
