Just a funny story that I heard about Reggie quite a few years ago..........Rumor in Bulldog-lore has it that this happened sometime in the 1990s at a home play-off game at Bulldog Bowl. I want to say it was a play-off game vs Silver City, but not really sure. Anyway, here goes......during that game at The Bowl the visiting film crew left their video camera unattended in the press box during half-time while they went to get something to eat. Reggie discovered the unattended camera....turned it on.....re-positioned it......dropped his pants, and bent over giving the visiting crews camera a full 15-20 second "Moon Shot". He then turned off the camera and returned it to it's original position. I can only imagine the reaction of the visiting players and coaches a few days later when they were watching the game film, lol. I heard this story from a former Bulldog Coach who shall remain nameless...... That sure sounds like something Reggie would do in hi younger years ๐

He was a good friend of coach Harvey, who would watch gamefilm with TW and he had a few players as his qb kids. He graduated from artesia. He moved and lived on the beach with his wife on the beach in rocky point mexico for about 5 years. Heโs around 70 but stil has his own welding shop in Atoka n stays busy manufacturing stuff for people, oilfield business.

Who's the guy barking in the video clip? OK, I will try to tackle this one, lol. But forgive me if I get some of the minor details wrong......The Barking Guy: I don't remember his name although I use to know it, I've talked to him a couple of times MANY moons ago. He is career Air Force (retired) moved here permanently from Michigan quite a few years ago. He used to live out by Brantley Lake in that huge encampment of RVs along with a whole bunch of other RVing "snowbirds". Not sure if he still lives there, or if he even lives in the Artesia area anymore. Once he moved here from Michigan he became a HUGE Bulldog fan, not just football but ALL Bulldog sports. He is really a great guy, really supports all of the kids in all Bulldog sports programs. And yes, he did bark like that at all games from start to finish......did I mention that he is definitely a bit of an "oddball"? Yes, he is definitely an oddball. He use to do a weekly segment on KSVP radio where he would give all Bulldog game scores for the week and give his take on all things Bulldog. Like I said, he is really a great guy, but just a bit "off" if you know what I mean.

Yeah he's still on KSVP as far as I know every now and then, he use to be on the forum too, I forget what happened. But yeah if that's me sitting next to that, I'm sorry I couldn't deal with it I think he's toned it down cause I don't hear anything like that anymore, you use to be able to hear it on the broadcast.

Yeah he's still on KSVP as far as I know every now and then, he use to be on the forum too, I forget what happened. Yeah, he use to be on this forum, but he left, deleted his account. He was WAY too sensitive, took everything literally and personally. And the way we kid around with each other on here, he just couldn't take it. Got his feeling hurt I'm pretty sure. The way I know this is because a few of us members on here talked about it with him on here.....on the forum. We tried to convince him not to leave, told him to just chill and roll with the punches, that we all kid around with each other on here. I remember him saying that he just didn't think this was the place for him. And from the few times I talked to him in person I got the feeling that there might have been just a touch of Autism going on. He just didn't relate well with the other members on here. So he left. I felt bad for him. Edit: One of the things that I definitely remember that happened was that he called out/chastised another member for a grammatical error in a post. Pretty sure it was "Rapid". Somebody responded by calling HIM out and telling him that nobody cares about that kind of stuff on here, basically telling him that we don't need any grammar nazis on here. I think that was the straw that broke the camels back, because after that he disappeared. Funny how I remember all of this like it was just yesterday. Sometimes I amaze myself, lol.

That's right I recall that now. I wouldn't want anyone to not feel welcomed here but we did try to resolve it.
I probably shouldn't have brought that up, but the topic of excessive noise reminded me of that.

Thanks for the info, guys. I was mildly curious because I don't recall him at all, so he must have appeared on the scene after I left Artesia in 1997.

You do got a good memory lol, I feel mine is getting worse as time goes on, trouble recalling stuff, remembering names etc. I feel like I got too much going on in my head, and that's why I can't remember stuff, at least that's what I tell myself

That video was from 13 years ago so 2010-2011, new guy in town and wants to support the local athletes, which is admirable, I just think his gimmick needed a little refining.

Rick, if we could produce a picture on here of Reggie Phillips you would would have an "oh yea" moment. He was around throughout the 80's I know. He celebrated our wins with gusto, and cried with us on the field when we lost. We loved him for sure. He was there for a free butt-chewing at the op of the ramp if he didn't think the team was playing hard enough. When the footballs on the pressbox were metal welded art, he made them. Might've made the original pressbox #1n as well. Never missed a game, home or away. Always wore orange. Good to kids always. Proud to be a Bulldog. He was close to my dad, but most of the coaches as well. I can confirm Noonies story because my dad told me about it. There are a lot of stories. I would love to sit and listen to him now if I had a chance. I think he was roughly the same age as crispydad, not sure about that though. There is no chance you didn't know him, and very little chance he didn't have some stories of your own.

I guess we're talking about two different people. I was asking about the guy in the video, who's sitting in the bleachers, barking over and over. I didn't recognize him or recall seeing or hearing him . . . if that's Reggie, then he's sure changed a lot.
I know Reggie. Did a feature story on him for one of the football editions in the first half of the 1990s that the ADP would put out when Artesia qualified for the state game. He and I climbed up on top of the press box, where I photographed him with that air horn. He told me some stories about his past experiences (especially at road games) when opposing schools/coaches would not let him use the horn.
Reggie had a friendly love/hate relationship with Tommy Essex, when the latter was head FB coach at Onate. Essex hated that horn.
Tom, I hope you're doing well. Now that I've got a computer again, it'll be easier to follow Mustang football.
