August 28 is a Thursday. Have they ever played on a Thursday? Is the schedule on the first game correct?

I think you saw the JV schedule. If you go up from your post about 2 inches and click on "2014 football schedule" it says August 29. But surely there is a JV game on the night before.

Next time don't spell Alamogordo, just write Fat Tree, New Mexico...Thanks for the correction. I hope these stands are filled up too. I know I will travel to Artesia for at least one game, then from there attend a Texas Tech game. I know I will be at the Valencia game, if I can find the stadium again.

Aug 29th will be my 1st game at the Bulldog Bowl. Is there parking spaces available on the home side? On google maps it looks like most of the parking is on the visitor side.

There is no parking on the home side. All parking is on the visitor's side. A lot of people park at the Blue Quail Shopping Center which is across Main Street to the north and walk across Main to the Bowl. Also, West Main Baptist Church which is adjacent to the Bowl on the northwest corner has sold season parking passes for the last few years to park in their church parking lot on Friday nights. Talk to somebody at the Church, that would be the closest parking to the home side. We use to park in the church parking lot all the time free of charge. Then I guess somebody at the church noticed what was going on and they thought..........HEY, we can make money off this deal! So now they sell a season pass to park in their lot. Good for them! The money goes to a good cause, but they may be all sold out. And if it is an over-flow crowd for a really big game, parking can usually be found in the High School Auditorium parking lot which is east of the auditorium.

crispysdad---Thanks for the info. I usually get to games very early so that I can watch the warm-ups and the crowd and bands, etc. come in.
bdogfan---I have no doubts about Bulldog pride. Any school with a winning tradition and multiple state championships will have a great following. From what Mr. Pitch has stated, it looks like the Bulldogs will have a great year. It looks to be a challenging schedule.

bdogfan---
The 1st college game I attended was at Jones Stadium against Arkansas on 11/19/1966. Arkansas was 8-1 and Tech was 3-6 but Tech won 21-16 and kept Arkansas from going to the Cotton Bowl. I sat in the student section with friends. It was fun to watch The Masked Rider race around the field.

Mr. Pitch now that "God's sport" that is football is around the corner, how are your Plains Cowboys looking? Will you play any NM teams? I hope your team and the community have a good season. Since I have known you on this board, I have been rooting for those Plains, Texas Cowboys.

Thanks a bunch. I think we are fixing to survive our 6 man moment. Having a couple of very small classes back to back had our enrollment down but we are talented but young in the soph., fr, and 8th grade. Our success will depend on how fast we can grow up and our jh(8th) grade team will add a lot in 2015 and beyond. Because of our numbers, compounded by injuries we were forced to play a lot of freshmen last year, with 14 positions being filled by freshmen last season. We are young but fairly experienced despite the youth. Thanks for asking.

I notice when I was coming through Plain on my way to Lubbock last week.
