Bones Michael is DC at Mansfield Lake Ridge and went against Jon Kitna and Waxahacie Friday night for a playoff spot. We held them to less than 200 yards first 3 quarters and beat them. His biggest D starter is 180 and he has lost 6 Starters to injuries for the year. Looks like they could go 3-4 rounds deep.

Just needed the rule quote, sorry it was in your post Baby Bones. My point was a a defensive lineman is not allowed to touch the ball until the ball has touched a back or the ground. That should make the attempt by the defense illegal. What do you think? I am in agreement. Just wanted to make sure folks knew I wasn't on the bad side of this deal.

It would be tough to compete at that level with not much size I would think. Tell him congratulations.

Having lived in Texas for a great many years I had become a proponent of Texas High School football. Waxahachie and LR are both somewhere around 2 1/2 times the student enrollment of Artesia. After watching that game I am convinced that Artesia could be very competitive with and quite possibly beat either team. Not trying to be insulting to either Hatchie or Lake Ridge but more of a complement to the Bulldogs and their coaching staff. Wish the best for LR in the playoffs but they have a rough trail to hike with the likes of Aledo, Mansfield Legacy, Denton Ryan, Denton and Lancaster in the hunt.

Remember Division I and III, most of those are opposite bracket or not in Division. Hachie had 2 TCU commits at WR and RB. that is hard to stop.

I will also add the Soph QB who ran for 168 yards and 7 TDS turns 15 in January. Also speed is the difference between Artesia and those two teams. Both were loaded with major speed.

Charliedog , no argument that both teams had some really good players. What I didn't see was the teamwork and discipline (particularly from Hatchie) that the Bulldogs continue to show. LR defense stepped up and finally got the stops necessary and LR gutted the middle of Hatchie's defense in the second half. Granted I am probably a "homer" and maybe I spent to many years watching 6A ball but still think Artesia would represent themselves well against them. I cannot imagine Rex or his staff tolerating some of the antics displayed by one of the TCU recruits on Hatchie's team showed. Artesia historically gets more out of less talented kids by getting them to play above their skill level and as a team.
