Rough day for the Sooners and LJ, OSU is a good team though, maybe one of the best in the country, I had a feeling the sooners might lose but didn't think it would be this bad.
See what kind of bowl game the sooners are looking at, maybe another game in Texas somewhere, give the fans a chance to go support Landry.

I viewed the game and I was not too happy watching an Artesia Alumni losing. I thought it was interesting listening to OSU fans chant LSU. I don't think LSU would have too much difficulty putting away OSU. They seem to be the best Universty team. I'm looking forward to watching LSU play Alabama again but until there is football playoff system IMO there will not be a clear champion. Good luck to Landry Jones in OU's bowl game.

(OU Sports Information)
The University of Oklahoma and the University of Iowa have both accepted invitations to play in the Insight Bowl on December 30 at 8 p.m. (MT) at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. The No. 19 Sooners will make their 45th bowl appearance and have played the Hawkeyes one time in program history, a 21-6 win on Sept. 15, 1979, in a game that saw current Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops play as a freshman defensive back for the Hawkeyes.
Oklahoma (9-3, 6-3) finished the season fourth in the Big 12 while Iowa (7-5, 4-4) finished fourth in the Legends division of the Big 10. The game marks OU’s first ever appearance in the Insight Bowl and Iowa’s second consecutive trip to the bowl. The Hawkeyes defeated Big 12 representative Missouri 27-24 in the 2010 edition of the game.
Tickets for Oklahoma’s Insight Bowl match-up versus Iowa are on sale now through the Oklahoma ticket office. The cost of the tickets is $67 each. Orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and tickets are subject to availability. Tickets can be purchased online at SoonerSports.com or by phone at (800) 456-GoOU or (405) 325-2424.
The Sooners have an all-time bowl record of 26-17-1, with wins in their past two bowl games, while Iowa is 14-10-1, having won their last three bowl games under head coach Kirk Ferentz. A win in the Insight Bowl would give Oklahoma its 33rd 10-win season, a number that leads the nation.
The two teams had one common opponent this season, Iowa State. The Sooners defeated the Cyclones 26-6 on Nov. 26 while the Hawkeyes fell to their in-state rivals in triple overtime, 44-41, on Sept. 10.

P.S. - depending on the weather, the drive from Artesia to Tempe shouldn't be too bad for you guys. The main risk would be coming over the mountains near Cloudcroft, especially down that hill into Alamogordo. But from there, it's four lanes all the way to Tempe via U.S. 70 through Cruces and I-10 the rest of the way.
Also, for the record, I am completely disgusted with my alma mater's fan base since yesterday. I can't even bear to read any internet posts.
I'm not happy with losing to Okie State in football, no matter what the circumstances are, and we haven't done it very often. In fact, I am all in favor of EVERY head football coach at OU having a bonus nullification clause in their contracts - where a loss to OSU negates any incentive bonus like a win over UT or any other "benchmark" to earn an added pay bonus.
But, the meltdown among our most fair-weather of fans disgusts me more than the game itself did.

Yeah it's pretty bad, but with as many fans as the sooners have your always going to have your share of idiots. Landry had a bad game yesterday no doubt about it, but he wasn't the only one. I think he will have a strong game in tempe and be 3-0 in bowl games for the sooners.

I was at game IMO Landry played good, recievers dropped balls, line could not pick up the blitz. In the first half OU hardly run the ball. There were some OU fans sitting in front of us, they starting mouthing Landry, I told them he could not block, throw and catch at same time, they left before the half.

I've decided the thing that makes Ryan Broyles so very good is that he fights for every catch. The number of times he drops the ball are miniscule. I don’t want to sound like other haters out there, but this group of receivers seem to expect LJ to do all the work and place the ball perfectly no matter what happens between his release of the ball and the ball arriving at its destination. If a defender knocks them off their “mark” it’s just too bad. They don’t want to have to wear themselves out. They need to get over themselves, man up and do what they can to help their QB and their team. It’s just hard (seemingly impossible at the moment) to replace a guy with as much heart as Broyles. Don’t even get me started on the “sharks.”
I think a lot of the Oklahoma fans (if you can really call them fans) act like spoiled brats … and, of course, they are the most vocal out there. IMHO, Landry has done a great job at Oklahoma and probably succeeded under pressure that might have crushed another QB. I believe the best thing about him is that he has his priorities straight and that quality will make him successful at whatever he chooses to do. To those fans that can’t wait to be negative … be careful what you wish for. My main “gripe” with Coach Stoops is that he leaves his starters in too long. Besides leaving them out there to get more beat up or even more seriously injured, it doesn’t let the up-and-comers get enough playing experience. That means when Landry leaves, Drew Allen and the other backups will still essentially be thrown into the fire with very little real game experience. Even with Blake Bell playing now, the only real experience he’s getting is running the “bell dozer” so, at the moment, he’s just a one-trick pony. In the long run, these fans will only realize how good Landry really is when it’s too late and he’s already gone.
One thing this year has taught me is not to read the Oklahoma message boards. What imbeciles most of these posters are. I can’t even fathom what they are actually thinking or what they might get out of these personal attacks. They make the Red Menace sound like a quilting club. What sad lives they must live.
Lastly, I truly believe that OK State should have gotten the chance to play LSU for the title. That’s it for me this year. There is no way I’m going to give up 3 more hours of my life to a game that has already been decided and was a snooze fest the first time. I hope the ratings are dismal. I’ll tune in to see Landry play but otherwise, for the very first time in my entire life, I’m just glad the season is FINALLY over.

Lets be honest Landry is twice the Man any of those posters are. They make me want to puke. Look up wannabe in the Dictionary and you will see all of their pictures. I better stop now before I get banned because I get really upset with the idiots on the OU Boards and especially since most of them have never got a jock sweaty.

I had a little "vacation" from work yesterday (UNM closed for the day due to the weather). I tried to look at one of the OU sites and closed it within minutes.
But, and I've said this before, as poorly as many OU fans are acting since Bedlam, we don't have the market cornered on that kind of thing. It got so ridiculous over here in the late 90's with Lobo men's basketball that Kenny Thomas left UNM thinking people hated him. And, when he was interviewed on local radio a couple of years later, and had people being SO nice and complimentary of him, people said he was almost emotional about it (in a good way). Of course, having two NIT seasons in a row after four straight NCAA tourney bids did tend to help people wake up where he was concerned....

Sounds just like Dallas Cowboy fans! Now that Romo hasn't screwed it up Jason Garrett takes over for him! That is really bad to try to (and succeed) in "icing" your own kicker! LOL

In the recent bowl edition of the Sporting News six former college QBs were asked to pick a college QB from scratch. Buck Belue, former Georgia QB, said if he were building a pro team Andrew Luck and Landry would be the two. Bill Burke, former Mich ST QB, said Luck is the guy for obvious reasons and had the most to say about Landry "HIs mechanics look like a carbon copy of Sam Bradford, he gets good RPM on the ball and he throws a ball that makes it easier for the receivers to catch, He is also very decisive and his quick release will serve him well at the next level. If you dont get TSN itw worth the $16 for this issue, 152 pages mostly about the bowls, TSN has always been my favorite sports mag.

If you've ever been offended by something you've read about Landry or OU, be sure to start taking it with a grain of salt. I listen to KREF (1400-AM) at work here in ABQ, and I just heard a guy say that "Baylor and OSU have passed OU by" (as a football program).
Some people are either (A) too STUPID to take seriously or (B) just want the attention. FYI - Baylor has beaten OU exactly once in its history, and OSU has only beaten us 17 times in over 100 tries.

I thought you guys would appreciate this pull-quote from a recruiting report I saw on an OU site:
"Returning quarterback Landry Jones is doing his part in recruiting, and Sooner fans should be grateful for his efforts. Although Jones is a fairly familiar face to fans, high school prospects regard him as somewhat of an idol. 'I can't believe Landry Jones talked to me,' has been said more times than we can count by incoming OU commitments and new recruits alike. "

Glad to see that the Daily Oklahoman's lead columnist (OKC paper) took time away from their mad love affair with Brandon Weeden to blog this about Landry's ESPN interview: Oklahoma football: Landry Jones breaks no new ground with ESPN Posted by Berry Tramel on January 31, 2012M at 4:30 pm Landry Jones went on ESPN’s College Football Live last week, and it made me feel good. Jones was no more revealing with the ESPN crew than he is with us back here in Oklahoma. The Sooner quarterback is nothing if not bland. Which is part of what exasperates OU fans so much. They want their quarterback to be fiery and emotional and a rah-rah leader. The tall, quiet types don’t get people as excited. But you’ve got to hand it to Jones. He’s not plastic. He’s not a fraud. He is what he is. You can view Jones video here: espn.go.com/video/clip?id=7511664Jones’ decision to return for a fifth year in Norman certainly is great news for the Sooners, even if some are anxious – and idiotic — to see new blood running the OU offense. I thought it would be 50-50 on Jones returning, but the idea that it’s always about money doesn’t wash with a guy like Jones. He really is different. He has different values, a different mindset. Remember the old notion that the one thing money can’t buy is your senior in college? That’s true. Some guys don’t belong on a campus, some guys have grown tired of a campus and some guys thrive and enjoy a campus. If you’re in the latter category, I’d think long and hard about leaving early for the NFL. Life gets here soon enough. Anyway, Jones is not any more fired up or downcast than he ever was when addressing the media last season. He answered questions about replacing Ryan Broyles, OU’s disappointing finish to the 2011 season, how much the Belldozer helped, his relationship with Blake Bell and where the Sooners fit in the big picture. No new ground is broken. But it should be comforting that when anyone talks to the Oklahoma quarterback for the next 11 months, they’ll be talking to Landry Jones.

If you haven't seen it, Landry is on the cover of the latest issue of Sooners Illustrated. oklahoma.scout.com/2/1145916.htmlI posted the link because it also includes a small duplication of that cover, as a means to purchase Sooners Illustrated magazine. That one actually started appearing on newsstands back when I was an OU student. As I recall, the first issue had Billy Sims on the cover, as a preview to the 1979 season. FWIW, you can get individual copies of Sooners Illustrated at various Hastings stores in Albuquerque. I was just at the one on Juan Tabo @ Lomas, and I saw the one before this issue (Ryan Broyles on the cover).
